And it's headed in this direction. We're supposed to get the hardest rain here from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. (just in time for rush hour), but it's supposed to be raining all day Friday.

Get out them rain barrels. Hope you and your family will be safe through all the mess.

If it is the same BS we got here then maybe you might get three inches of rain. lol lol

I'm not sure we even got that much. The winds kicked up around 3:00 a.m., the rain started just before 4:00 a.m., and ended some time before 8:00 a.m. here. Then some light rain around 5:30 p.m., which lasted for a little under an hour. :bored:

However, in Camarillo Springs (about 50 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles) mud and debris slides rendered 13 homes uninhabitable; the three they showed on the news this morning will likely have to be completely demolished and rebuilt. The force of the slides carried two earthmovers down the hill and onto the street, then buried one and partially buried the other. So some parts of southern California got a lot of rain, but we didn't.

Yet the newscasters are screaming, "Storm Watch 2014!!!" lol

We live only a few miles from some local hills, and I'm pretty sure that affects the weather patterns in our neighborhood because we almost always get a much tamer version of whatever weather everyone else in southern California is experiencing. [huh]

The storm was really not too bad here in my area of Northern California. Sure, it didn't stop raining for a day straight, and some commuters had trouble, but it wasn't really all that windy. I thought it would be much worse.
