Very cool!

I have Richard Karn's (Al from Home Improvement) autograph. It was a long time ago, but I think it was at a promotion for OSH Hardware.
I wrote to Kristi Yamaguchi when I was little, and got an autographed picture sent back.
I went to a talk by Garth Nix at a small local bookstore and had his book Lirael (which had just come out) autographed. Sabriel was one of my favorite books at the time, and I thought it was so cool to meet in person the man who'd come up with the story.

I just remembered I have a bunch of autographed comic books floating around here, too. John Romita Jr. once drew a spider-man cover for Iowa City Magazine back in the 90s and he autographed it for me a few years ago. He got a kick out of seeing that again. The last thing I ever had autographed though was a issue of Savage Sword of Conan by Ernie Chan. A very quiet and considerate man, and one hell of an artist.
There was a guy ahead of me in the autograph line who sat a huge stack of savage swords down on the table and he wanted Ernie to autograph all of them. What gall! Ernie considerately said he couldn't do all of those. I just had my one issue to get signed and I couldn't be happier for it.

The only golden age star autograph I have is Ann Rutherford. It is personalised to me and is a dear possession.
I got Al Jaffe's autograph and Sergio Aragone's autograph and a sketch at a Mad display in a local museum.
When I was an extra in "On the Edge" I got autographs from the director and five actors, such as Bruce Dern and Pam Grier. The funny thing is I go by the long form of my first name and people then call me the shorter, familiar form.
Bruce Dern asked my name and wrote the short version, when I corrected him he apologised. Regular folk don't do that. :D

Sincerely,
The Wolf

Oh, and an autographed copy James Goodson's Tumult in the Clouds.

I once went to a second hand bookshop and saw this book called "Silent Star" an autobiography of Colleen Moore :D the book was expensive for a second hand one, so i asked the lady why and she told me that the reason was that CMoore had signed it on the first page!!!!!:D That's the one and only autograph that I own, but for me it's very symbolic --- it represents all that I love from Hollywood back then ... :)

Very cool Hadley! I think her writing looks very 1920s--sort of stylized. It's a good book too; aside from her unhappy first marriage it seems like she had an unusually happy life for a film star. Smart too with all her stock earnings. Someday I'm going to get to Chicago to see her Fairy Castle too.

:eek:fftopic: I took several classes with Joe Ellis in college and I did a senior seminar with him as well. He's an excellent teacher.
