Oh, yes. Sorry. The Midwest. I know of Optimo, but I think I read that they aren't really doing simple services like that any more.
Check with Scott on Etsy ...FineVintageFedoras….out of Wisconsin. He does good restoration work. Another hatter is Tim at AlleyKatHats. He is on Etsy as well and advertises that he sells ribbons....he is in PA. Another CheeseHead is the BrassRooster out of Milwaukee....it is a bricks and mortar hat shop.

Do you think this is worth $35? I have not received this yet. What do the numbers next to the size mean?

Spot on 100%. I have a 50"s OR that has been with David since December, but it is coming back to me next week.

I have to say, the wait has been completely worth it because I know my hat is going to be restored properly.

With the recent acquisition of VS things have slowdown a bit, but David told me they were kickstarting production this week.

You can’t beat the prices and quality at VS, but the shipping to Oregon might tip the scales. You might also have more of a wait than you’re ok with.

Hmmm. David has had two of my hats for repair since October.

I'm sure it will. My hat is pretty much in perfect mint condition and that's the only reason why I wanted to have it professionally repaired. Otherwise I wouldn't have bother with it.

My work is more involved than just a sweatband. I spoke to David in January and he said I was still two months out. Once the transition problems are resolved I’m hoping it will be back to the fast service I got used to.

Hi, I’m an art historian located in Norway, researching a Bowler hat. I would like to catalogue the hat as precisely as possible and hope that some of you may help me. The hat is dark grey /black felt (?) and measures 13 × 30 × 25 cm. The sweatband has a stuck-on label stating “384 7 1/8” as well as embossed lettering, which is difficult to decipher: “PL—BUS [?] // Extra Quality”. Is the embossed lettering a reference to the maker or the model? Is it possible to identify the maker? I know that the hat dates from prior 1944, but is it possible to give it a better date range, based on the sweatband or other details? All tips and hints are much appreciated!

I wore an old Stetson 3X Beaver Gun Club fedora into work and was laughing about how not only do I have Grandpa's hat but I probably bought his car as well.
Imagine my horror when I come back to my desk and a moth flies out from the credenza where I put the hat. Gigundo office building with lots of tasty dividers to chew on.
I guess it'll be stick hats at work inside of a plastic garbage bag and get some cedar balls unless someone else has a better idea?
Yes, I know, retire but that's still a few years away.

I had a bit of a scare a few months ago and picked up this stuff.

I've only used it once, and I don't know how much of a problem I fended off actually, but you might check it out.
