Anyone have detail drawings or a patent number for the Stetson 100 Samsonite Presentation case inserts? I know a Lounge member (buler, carouselvic?) did fabricate some at one time.

I do not have detail drawings, but if you're looking for more precise measurements or detailed photos, that I can do.
Thanks Jared. I did a general patent search & found nothing so I'm going to look deeper. Hopefully someone here has drawings. If I can't find what I need I'll send you a PM. You can measure the radiuses with a measuring square. Looks like there would be no more than 5 different radiuses at most.

I’d be a little leery of Googling that nowadays...

It's safe, Bob, I tried it. I enter the iffy parts of the web so you don't have to!

I remember dad used some type of thing that came in a red plastic container, about the size of a shoeshine polish can, that also had a little plastic "comb" attached to get the most of your flattop. It must not have been Butch Wax, because the images online don't look anything like it.

I've seen several original pairs and none had markings. There is a thread about me making them. I have a "pattern" drawn on one of my workbenches.

I saw that thread but it doesn't really help much. I have access to a plastic bender & some dies. Was debating on using Polycarbonate instead of Plexi as it would be less brittle. I guess I'll have to engineer something up for a couple of sets.

Nothing to say it a cap. You would be better off with a real newsboy cap. They let you show a sense of style. These wimpy little caps are a first step in the direction away from a ball cap. So you are moving in the right direction. Once you get a real newsboy cap you will never put this on your head again. [emoji3]
AND once you move up to a bespoke Newsboy it is very hard to return to anything off the rack

What is a good site for a decent cap? Thanks Hatter!
There is a ton of good info, pictures and descriptions of the offerings in the cap world in the "What Cap are you Wearing Today" thread. Etsy.com is also a good browsing site for caps. As is JJ Hats in NY with online sales. There is a wide range of price points with some very good custom cap makers for as low as $60 upwards to $250. If you have a hat shop in your town or close by go in and try on as many as you can to get a feel for what you like, what looks good on you. In the Newsboy world there are many different cuts....from the smaller crowned Peaky Blinders to a some really full bodied, also different brim lengths. Goorin Bros is a good shop to browse, not such a great shop to buy unless you can score during their post Christmas sale.

I like a cap with medium fullness, although I do have a low profile ivy cap as in the OP.

My go to cap is this Harris tweed number from Wigens, a Swedish company. I really like the weight of the Harris tweed fabric.

I second @belfastboy for site recommendations, as well as Delmonico linked above. I would sign up for an email list or two because one of more of those sites is likely to have a sale either this week or at some point through the holidays.

I do strictly custom caps as I like vintage designs and before members of this forum started making vintage caps I tried all the big names Stetson and Goorin to name a few.

I helped Johnny J get started making custom caps buying his first ones. No better caps than his.

He does strictly custom work an it is at the highest level of craftsman ship. The cap i am wearing here the the forum is one. I generally find vintage fabric and send it to him and he just makes me a cap.

Keith LoBue is artist who started making caps always fun fabrics and designs.

If you do Facebook check out the cap department lots of vintage cap photos and custom cap pictures.
