I'm looking for some information on this beaver long hair. Absolutely pristine!
Must be 100 years old, last reference to the maker I saw was in 1915 American Hatter. It was a center dent its whole life, but I recently re shaped it.

Stetson "The Supreme"???

Just picked this up and looking for info since I can't seem to find anything about this Model for some reason. Charcoal gray with a 2-1/2" brim. Felt is decent. Stitched brim edge and black liner. Guessing '80s or '90s? Was this a short run or a predecessor to another model? Is pretty nice overall and will make a good beater. Thanks!

I have a thin ribbon Stetson with an identical sweat and liner. Mine is from the 1990's. The hat is a decent knockabout but nothing outstanding about it. I think it speaks to the era and the quality therein.

Additional photos would be nice... sweatband stamps, manufacturing labels behind the sweatband. Looks very interesting.

An interesting puzzler... The sweatband and ribbon do not express great age to me but they may not be original to the hat body. Is the red liner sewn in?

I would guess it is not made from beaver fur.

My work is sending me to a training course just outside DC at Reston, VA. Are there any hat shops worth visiting in the area? I will only be there from 21-25 August so may not have time but want to plan ahead. Alternatively, I may order a hat and have it delivered to a colleague to wear back saving me the shipping and import duties to the UK... now to find one... [emoji51].

Close up of crown center. Yes, the l liner is sewn all the way around.
Thanks for your observations, much appreciated.

Thanks for the additional photos. My guess is the sweatband and ribbon have been replaced and the liner sewn in at that time. The liner and hat body might have started off in life together. The felt content might have been suggested on the original sweatband (I'm assuming there are no imprints on this sweatband). Again, just guessing, but hare or nutria are most likely. Beaver would have been uncommon and expensive (and probably not black).

Thanks, it was given to me by an antiques dealer about 40 years ago. Finally it has shrunk to my size. Perfect for a costume party... pimp, Etc., a bit hairy for a regular wear
