You don't post pictures directly thru the "Image" icon. Look around on the screen. I think it's upload file or something like that. Many things with this new software are very subtle.

Thanks B - all obviously too subtle for me, as I still can't find what you suggest! I've exhausted my patience now and a meal is calling and will try again later, but all help would be gratefully received.
Chris.

Chris, when replying to a thread, look for the "Upload a File" button on the bottom right between "Post Reply" and "More Options..". This lets you choose a photo from local storage and uploads it.

Sorry but I couldn't find the answer by searching!
How many beaver lives will an average beaver fur felt hat have on it's conscience?

Thanks (and sorry for this morbid topic)

Working off memory, so not sure but i think i read it was 12-15 since only the fluff was used not the guard hairs
I'm sure an expert like Steve will chime in

Thanks

Today I found something by searching for rabbits and Akubra:
"Every Akubra Hat is made from pure rabbit fur felt and depending on the style, anywhere from 10 to 14 rabbit skins make an individual hat." Link

BTW true morbidity would be suggesting a new rating system

I'm becoming increasingly vexed by the fact that there are no shops in the west midlands that sell hats. My only option is to buy hats online and hope they fit and suit me. I see pictures of you American gentlemen in amazing shops surrounded by amazing hats... Bloody rediculous!

Just venting really. Please Forgive my interruption..

Proper hat shops are few and far between in the United States, I have NEVER been in a proper shop, I do all my shopping online as well

I think the only proper hat shop I have been is the D'Aquino store in Lisbon but nothing comparable like western wear stores or custom hatters in the US

I'm lucky enough to have two within driving distance (one within walking). However, it's a big country. It seems the east coast and Chicago, along with some western locations, are dotted with hat shops. Get into the middle of the country, and they seem to be harder to come by. Anybody living in a rural area is probably limited to ordering online, as well.

There's Meyer the Hatter here in Noo Awlins. Go figure -- a city with one of the hottest, steamiest climates in the U.S. is still cooking along (pun gleefully intended) selling hats. (Maybe because of Mardi Gras marching organizations.)

The only proper place I've been in was Wayne's Boot Shop in Cody, Wyoming, which sold a decent amount of Stetsons along with it's many other leather products. I didn't buy anything at the time, but it was nice to have actually found one.

Question: what is the name of the machine that will punch letters into a sweatband? The kind that will allow me to put in initials or a name.

The one that I own is called the Cummins Initial Machine. It is made by the J. B. Mast company and I believe they came in two different sizes. The smaller one was called the Cummins Junior Initial Machine. Some of my customers prefer that old school look of the perforated monogram.
