Hello Loungers,
I posted my first Image today (Big Deal for me) my question is,
(1) How can you post more than one image in the same post?when I tried to post a second image only the first one appeared,I tried several times to add it.
(2) I selected the insert image Icon,When I posted the address in the drop down window and hit OK it appeared on my posting browser/typing bar.
I than spaced the sentence underneath the already previous image/sentence and when I submitted it only the first image appeared.?
(3)Can you post a image when you are editing a post?I tried that as well with no luck.

Any detailed answers would be appreciated I really would like to learn how to do it, I see several images in one single post all the time.I have several hats I would like to share with all loungers out there.
Thanks,CC

Hi People,

Thanks to the admin for opening such a platform and for people who are contributing.

My question is, I really liked this hat I saw in a picture in the news. I tried to find on every site, i cant really make out what to classify it as, it kind of looks like a fedora but does not have the common material used for fedora (wool, leather). This hat seems to have a nylon material (or whatever material one uses for waterproof) and also has a band on the hat thus giving it a fedora look but not quite. Anyone know this hat?

I tried to post pictures of this hat but it seems as if the site only allows link, i am not sure if they turn up. but if you search 'german alonso sherlock' on google images then you will know the hat i am talking about. just in case anyone thinks i am trying to do something bad, the topic is that german alonso is training a vulture called "sherlock" for the German police so that it can detect dead bodies in woodlands.

Anyone that can help would be very grateful

Hi! A few weeks ago I gave away my nice 15 y/o Gun Club fedora. So I want to do the new hat right. I want to put a dull, medium blue/gray ribbon on a medium/dark gray hat. Is there some well-reputed place I could send a new hat to and get the ribbon I want installed? I think I could probably find a place to buy the ribbon if I have to. Beaver Brand sounded like a possible place to buy a custom hat but I didn't see how I could choose from their selection of ribbons. Any advice would be much appreciated. Price doesn't matter much. Best Regards, Ralph

Welcome Ralph.
Contact Major Mike Moore at Buckaroo Hatters = http://www.buckaroohatters.com/
He has done great ribbon replacement work for me in the past.
He frequents the Lounge as well.

Question on water repellent treatments (Scout, etc.). Thinking about treating a few of my hats, I called Henry The Hatter to see if they carried the Scout brand. They don't sell ANY treatment, saying fur felt hats simply do not need to be treated. Your thoughts on this appreciated.

Basically, I agree. A high quality felt hat should not need additional treating once the hatter has finished with it. I know each hatter has techniques used to make the signature product they want. Some do additional treating, some may not = their trade secret.
I saw how the felt blanks were made by Winchester & don't see how rain will hurt a hat made from their felt.
If you just want the water to bead up & roll off, then treat it. I personally want the felt to get wet & dry & develop the petina it is destined to.

I recently won on ebay a Stetson 3x fedora that was described as "open road style". But the hat is not marked open road. it's a snap brim fedora with thin 3 strand ribbon, silverbelly. The brim is 2 7/8 raw edge, crown about 4 3/4 with a diamond bash (my styling). has a round price tag with $15. the felt is soft and easily shaped. The logo of the last drop is embroidered in what appears to be rayon or nylon.
I have never seen this particular version listed anywhere, so my question is: what the hell is this model?
sorry I have no pic to post right now. Help please.

From your description, I would tell you that most here would say it is not an Open Road if the words Open Road are not printed on either the liner or the sweatband.

Did you check under the sweatband? Sometimes you'll see a reorder tag, and this might actually say "Open Road" on it. However, the above still applies and it would still be considered an Open Road style lid - no model designation.

This is my conjecture not having seen the hat, but if this is true, the seller was correct in listing this as Open Road style. Welcome to the Lounge.

Not really Open Road style-raw not bound edge. 3-ply ribbon not Grosgrain. Just a Western with a moderate brim similar in dimensions to Open Road.

I was wondering about the angle that folks wear their hats at. I know the attitude quote by Sinatra and all, but was there ever or is there now some spoken or unspoken rule about what angle you wear your hat, or which way you tilt it? I angle my hat to the right... is it because I'm right handed?

Has this been discussed in any other threads? If not, lets create one!

I've found myself angling mine to the left. But I'm left handed. Also noted that I am doing it in a mirror, and it looks "right", but for others to see it as I do, I have to switch to the right... so confusing! :D
