my entire point
human contact with hats before purchase
human contact looking someone in the face who is selling you the hat
and contact with an actual building containing hats
the old fashion way
I understand. But for those that don't have that luxury, Bob is spot on.

No. Not that olde. Sometime after telephones were invented and before the internet.the old way isn't walking in the store and buying ?
who the hell would want to look at my mug and have a conversation this long ?

Like the olde way BEFORE Internet buying. Where you would actually call a store NOT WITHIN WALKING OR DRIVING DISTANCE... and actually SPEAK to a PERSON, get acquainted, talk about the item to be purchased and give them a credit card. UNLIKE PURCHASING ONLINE TODAY where it's all done by computer. As I said, to alleviate potential problems I always speak to someone at the sellers business first and then give them my credit card, the old way... BEFORE the internet.my entire point

Not the "whole" conversation... the guy the purchaser was looking at couldn't get the product. I merely suggested some alternatives that worked for me.the guy we are talking to has that luxury ... that was the whole conversation
