My wife said it too ugly for travelling!

I am so happy and exciting, I will go travelling to Japan with my wife for honeymoon. Everything is OK, but now i have a problem on my attire. The outfit and package are ok. The problem is; I want to wear this hat for our honeymoon. but my wife said it too ugly and not good for travel. She thought it too heavy. I was confused. I like its casual style and I think it is suitable for travelling. Any thougths on it? Is it that ugly? Any other good advice?

There are times to take a stand and times to just let it go, and this is the latter. Looks like a completely average ballcap not worth ruining a honeymoon over - nothing to complain about, but nothing worth fighting for.

Methinks this is spam.
But I will give it till this afternoon.

LOL, they are on all forums. Between the cheap rip off crap like Nike T-shoes and ipods.

I so exciting about the New Stratoliner you guy coming out with. I wear it to Illinois soon but one problem. My wife say she beat me over head if I buy one more hat from those crazy persons at Fedora Lounge. They get me in trouble all the time. Can you advice me on this?

As long as the hat doesn't have a hidden spy camera, your wife will be just fine Terry.
Better make sure it's not ugly as well, better safe than sorry!!

Well, I sure think I smell shoulder pork and ham.... Maybe he's just working on his English? His other posts read like spam, but no links. I don't know, I've seen them edit posts after the fact to add in links (trying to be like Hover Cat here).

I don't see a signature, but maybe check in the Control Panel. I've seen them use the "one pixel" thing in a signature, it is invisible in the post, but will appear as script in their signature block. It's a sort of tracking thing if my non-techie brain remembers it correctly. Either way, I'm betting you'll soon be introducing him to this Fellow....

No answers on my ribbon query? :(

Sable could be a tough color to pin down without a photo of the hat in question. When I was kid in NYC, sable was a name for smoked carp in the Jewish delis... very reddish brown.

Hunting the ebay auctions for vintage fedoras might be a quick way to look at hat/ribbon possibilities. I thought this recent Playboy was nice.

The Christy's sable is actually just brown. The hat in question is now a faded brown... I've been going through Art's thread, looking for brown hats. But it's very hard to spot one that doesn't have a dark ribbon (which I'm trying to steer clear of so it won't look to Indy-ish).

How badly did I mess up?

I bought this old Dobbs a few weeks ago and discovered it to be a size too small, it wasn't an expensive hat so I decided to try and stretch it - On My Head!
It is now very comfortable and I tend toward the down-at-heel shamus rather than the gay boulevardier anyway but do these new rear & side dents which appeared make it look too bad?

I actually meant to throw this one out to you, I think the discussion was in the Art Fawcett Hall Of Fame thread near the end, they were talking chocolate brown with a copper colored ribbon. As i mentioned there, I have a Mallory Ten in very dark brown with a lighter brown ribbon that has faded to a copper color, looks very nice.

I'm going to buy a camel, brown and burgundy colored ribbon later. Planning on trying to replicate Art's two-toned ribbons. I'm going to use the camel as a base color and either brown or burgundy as the accents.

+1... Lee hats in this style are great.

Does anyone know the price/quality relationship to the different "colors" in Lee hats? Black label, blue, white... I tried looking at one point and came up empty.

Thanks for the info! I do have one more question regarding this hat. The center of the inside where it says "Lee" is covered in a clear material. Did older Fedora's have that feature?

Alan, I know its been discussed but I don't recall a final decision. There were quite a few Lee's in the johnnyphi auctions and all of those are still in the "Merchants" section. Some of that past discussion may have been in those posts. You may be able to decide for yourself based on the pictures and desciptions of those hats.
