The way you document these jackets and their fit in photos. You've taken a lot of care with this.

Dude.
The way the Canuck Panda knows the measurements work from his collected experience, learnings and data. He has a process driven and detailed mind which shows in his incredible collection.

And, he is happy to share his knowledge...

Not a phrase I ever imagined typing 'Upvote the Panda'!

(Oops - I thought I was replying to the Panda.)
Anyway - Panda for president!

Yes and No. I would hang on to it until something else comes up in the same ball park, like another aviator style that actually fits different, before unloading this one.

The pigment Shinki also has a wax top coat which needs a slight break in for the drape to improve too.

There was another one of this jacket in another thread and my feeling is the same in both cases. If you go down a size it might become too tight. But the current one is also not ideal, it's missing the half belt cinch and an inch too long.

A quick fix imo is to install a pair of waist cinch at the half belt, to bring in the waist to get that drop 4" to the waist before flaring out at the hem back to 2" drop.

A lot of cross zips on the market is shaped like this and sized like this. Without going custom I have not run into an off rack aviator cross zip that has more taper or shorter.

Jacket 2 to 3 are both size 44 (1930s), so shoulder is 18.5" plus or minus 0.25", P2P is 22.5" plus or minus 0.25", Hem is 21.5" plus or minus 0.25". Jacket 4 is size 42 (1930s), I think the Schott Shinki Medium is size 41 (1930s) so these two will be very close. This is why I assume going down one alpha size may be too uncomfortable.
Jacket 3 is gonna be very similar to your Large Shinki Schott except the sleeves are more rotated towards the front , but the overall width and length is exactly the same as your Schott I assume.
Jacket 2 is same as jacket 3 with sleeve rotated back like your Schott, the main difference here is the additional waist cinch which I am using, and minus one inch length! This is what the Shinki Schott could have been - minus one inch length and add waist cinches.
Jacket 1 is just shorter and more taper and is based off a motorcycle jacket, which also has bigger sleeve than the aviators I find. For aviators I actually don't think it's necessary to go as short or taper as the motorcycle jackets. It could, but not neccesary.

Honestly I think just wear it first, and wait for another aviator that is one inch shorter with waist cinch to show up. In the worst case scenario you can always get it shortened and add the waist cinch, but wear it first just to make sure.
C Panda, you should make a web catalogue, you tried so many jackets, from so many makers, even various chinese brands, the fit comparison is amazing vault of knowledge, thank you for your input to the community

Is this one of the “good” LVC jackets? It’s made in Italy.
