how about coconut shell button? I think they look interesting and natural looking. I use it on my jacket and even the small one for the backing button stay good for 3 years now so far, no sign of degrading at all.

I would say it's because at the time flight jackets were introduced to US pilots as official issue (~1927?), the US Army (of which the 'Air Corps' was then a part) had a green/khaki/brown color scheme going on from head to foot. A black jacket would've looked entirely out of place.

I've got coconut buttons on a couple of Hawaii shirts. They feel a bit lightweight to be used on a leather jacket tbh.

I get confused between coconut shell button and coconut wood button. I think the one with dark brown and light brown pattern is the coconut shell, and coconut wood is the one with either dotted grains or streaky grain depending how the wood is cut and the color is medium light brown not much variation in color compared to coconut shell one. I use both on my brown jacket, the buttons on the outside are coconut wood buttons and the small buttons on the backing are coconut shell buttons. coconut wood is much sturdier and heavier than coconut shell, coconut shell has natural curved shape to it make sense for button.

Looks to be Cycle Rider label. The book says these were late 70s early 80s.

Now I really like the stud and jewel j24 that Lost Worlds does, but does anyone know who else makes one? From what I’ve read about LW on here, they probably would not be my first choice. Just wanted to see if there are other people that make something similar

Is there ANY European Union member country that doesn't have to pay import taxes from UK? I wanna buy a pair of boots from UK but don't want to end up paying crazy import taxes so I wonder if anyone here could help me out getting them across.
