I have $200 in Amazon credit. Are there any good clothing or accessories (to go with outerwear) deals on there that I might be missing? I feel like I’ve bought some decent henleys and pocket t’s lately, but that’s it.

Front Drop ->

So that is how much longer the front hem of a jacket is than the back hem? Probably a dumb question, just want to be sure.

If this is the case, would a jacket longer in the back have 'back drop?' (Or "Negative Front Drop?")

ps. I can't believe I'm still unclear on this.

Wow, I like it rather a lot. Thank you! Now, it's time to build up my thin chest (33.5"). Btw, did you feel good about ease of movement?

Incredible ease of movement despite being a pretty small jacket. I don’t know how they did it. My only guess is the larger shoulders. I usually need around 17” shoulder. This jacket is closer to 18”.

That makes sense. I was a bit nervous when the measurements pretty small (but shoulder width) and the absence of action back.

Question for Aero owners: what is your opinion on the warmth and durability of the wool-backed quilted lining? I'm in the process of getting a grizzly jacket made with them, and I'm trying to decide between the quilted lining and the herringbone tweed. I was initially just going to go with the cotton drill, but I read that it provides little warmth.

I had the petroleum quilted lining in my Aero grizzly and yes it’s not bad warmth wise, it didn’t get me through winter but down to 8-10 degrees (Celsius) I was fine. I think it’s a good liner although not particularly popular. My only caution is that the petroleum-coloured one can turn out pretty pinkish so maybe red or navy are safer options.

I currently have the herringbone tweed in the Hooch hauler and the quilted lining is ime marginally warmer.

Does the Schott 641 Horsehide say something like 641 HH on the pocket tag, or does it just say 641 like the standard jackets do?

Thanks for this insight, how does the quilted liner hold up with wear?

What is the forum consensus on Bill Kelso jackets? I just noticed the Wingman design, which looks very nice. I gather that he is generally rated fairly well, but it is really hard to find pics and reviews from actual owners. I'm guessing his operation and production numbers are very small, but he has been around for a while.

This has more to do with Andy's personality than with the quality of BK's jackets.

Thanks. I keep going back to that Wingman page. The design, the leather, the contract stitching all looks really nice and still fairly understated.

I don't need to know any gossip or personal stuff, but is there any reason not to order from BK if their product is quality?

No reason at all as far as I know (although I haven't handled one of their jackets myself tbh)

I love the wingman, its a great design. Looks a bit like my FL :)

One thing to keep in mind is that their liberty hh is designed to show wear quickly.

When you order, I suggest being specific with sleeve end/ cuff measurements. They can turn out pretty wide if not spec’d. Mixed reviews on Liberty, but the Victory hide gets raves.

My experience with BK was unremarkable in the sense that all went smooth. Placed the order and after 3 months I got my jacket. I did a sort of custom order changing the collar from shawl to the wingman one on a cadet.

I ordered it in Black Liberty (HH). I personally haven’t experienced much wear through in the 2 year and half I’ve had the jacket. Maybe the Liberty Seal has a weaker top coat or maybe different batches have different features. Cuffs for me are pretty standard width wise I wouldn’t want them any tighter.

The prices shot up a few years back when the company was supposedly taken over by an unknown British entity. We have very few details...
