I’m looking for a new belt (to go with leather jackets so please don’t move this to the normie forums :) )

something with a little bling, but not Western - more punk rock but subtle enough for an older dude. I used to have some cheap studded belts when I was younger and was thinking something like that but in a better quality and toned down a bit. I did an eBay search and came up with this from a place called Hollywood Trading Company, which is close to what I had in mind. Any leads on where to look would be much appreciated!

Thanks. I know the manufacturer of these jackets because I made a collage of these pictures. But I am looking for similar jackets from other manufacturers.
I understand the importance of accurate sizing. I assumed that this would be difficult. This is one of the reasons why I didn’t choose the first =Aero Leather= I came across right away.
Also, before determining the size, the choice of leather is very difficult for me. The manufacturer can declare anything, but I would like to have time to find the opinions of at least some living buyers before I place an order.

Thanks. Do you know where I can find any lists of reputable manufacturers?

Thanks. I suppose that it is possible and necessary to request all the measurements of interest from the seller in advance. If the seller cannot give the required measurements then this is a lottery. And this lottery is often a noticeably expensive event.

Thanks. Please tell me where can I find generalized (summary) information about the types of horse leather from well-known manufacturers of jackets?

P.S. I have had a couple of leather jackets in the last century. But now for me the choice of such a jacket is a completely new thing. Therefore, I apologize for possibly stupid questions.
This is not meant to be snide, but if you want a good jacket on the first try (always a gamble) my advice would be to plan on ordering one in 6 months. If you go custom there is a good chance you’ll have it this time next year. In the meantime spend time looking at the current and older posts on The fedora lounge. Spending time on the project will get the right answers FOR YOU. Asking “what’s the best” which seems to come up every 2 weeks here will result in 10 pages worth of answers. Most of these answers are valid yet different. The reason is what is best is just a opinion not fact. Leather jackets are cooking not baking, art not science.

I love these rockabilly belts!
I often look for them on ebay as “vintage western belts.”
Warpath / Matt Strickland (rivet_head) makes them:

also Ace belts does various versions from no bling on up.

Carrie has the plain ones at TB

There was a member making them too, but he hasn’t been around for awhile.
Good luck! Can’t wait the see what you get. :)

here’s another link for looks:

they can get expensive, but you can also get a good repro buckle from ebay and some spots to make your own once you figure out what you like.

I’ve emailed the eBay seller for the belt above but not getting any replies, so I’m leery of ordering.

That got me thinking about just buying a standard garrison belt, an awl and a few other basic tools and doing my own. Watching a few videos makes me think that it is time consuming but not difficult.

Edit: I also found Legendary Vintage Belts on Insta, who does some really cool designs I like (more rock and roll and less western styling). I may bite the bullet and order with him.

What kind of jacket is this? Help me to define please. I am interested in leather name and weight (oz) and style and brand. I have no other photos or better quality photos. This jacket was purchased in Egypt in 1995. These photos were taken in 2000 when the jacket was in use for a long time and was very stretched. The jacket is believed to have been made in New Zealand. But in fact, it could have been made anywhere else, for example in Turkey.
This jacket had a detachable quilted lining and an additional fur collar (little visible only in one photo).
I saw many of these jackets at the end of the last century in Europe. It was always dark brown in color.

"...originally a functional detail, to allow the garment to shed rain, and to dry faster when wet because the fringe acted as a series of wicks to disperse the water..."

Absolutely spot on!
Rain will always pull to the following edge and if on a bike the fringing leaves the storm behind

Hello my fellow jackets enthusiasts,

I'm in the process of ordering a custom leather jacket and would like to get the sleeve lining myself, does any of you happen to know where I can find a striped cotton lining like the one on this picture? The best thing would of course be made in Japan or Italy.

Can anyone compare sizing info on A Schott Perfecto 125? My normal size is 46. Also, what is the back length?
