Does anyone know what time period this type of Conmar zipper was used.

Here is a liner jacket that I think is great.

I want to find one like it. I presume it's an M65-type liner, but what is it exactly, so I can find one?

I especially like the colour and the diagonal style of quilting. Also, I'm not going to buy the one pictured because it's from the artisanal motorcycle brand Jane Motorcycles and it's 350 bucks.

Any suggestions for an alternative would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone here have any ideas as to the brand of this jacket?

And any idea what the estimated value would be?

The zipper puts it at being made approximately from 1939-43.

And it’s about a size 42 I’d say.

Pretty sure it’s a 40s Hercules
Thanks I found an ad on the internet from 1944 with this jacket described to the T, it must have been made in late 43 perhaps definitely a sears Hercules Cossack style.

I think the "Roadfarer" is a counterfeit. I asked Lewis Leather directly on their site, I'm waiting for their answer... Also when I see this kind of unclear site who sells this jacket... big questioning about the product. Clearly, the "Bronx" model is mentioned here, not Roadfarer. ----> https://www.ckxstudio.com/product-page/lewis-leather-roadfarer-xl
If I'm not mistaken they licensed the name to another company in the late 80s early 90s. These were not made in England. I wouldn't pay more than €175.

Recently picked up a pair of vintage boots, are these kind of cracks on the leather a bad sign? Any remedieson fixing it if so? Thanks all!

Variable grain tension or loose grain if the top layer has completely separated from the mid layer or corium. Could be a physical problem but likely just an aesthetic issue. There's nothing you can do to "fix" it", it's just the way leather is sometimes. I've gone through this myself before, if it bothers you, return if you can or sell.

alternative choice, reversible jacket [blaze side is different pattern], not sure if it meets your criteria.

or a dirt cheap alternative

Your dirt cheap alternative is absolutely perfect, but is entirely sold out here in the UK unfortunately.

Looks like maybe overdye or topcoat layer is dry and cracked a little (assuming you don't mean the grain as "cracking"), I had a similar thing happen on my boots, just a little conditioner will rehydrate and blend it back in.

Thanks for the reply. Just curious what you used as a conditioner?

what is costumey in your opinion in regard to outfit?

is it costumey if we wear something that is originally made for certain profession/ lifestyle we are not participating in?

or is it comstumey if people wear something only for other to see and quickly change into something else the moment they arrive at home.

I'm not a band member but I wear skinny jeans and biker jacket, I'm not working in construction but I love double knee pants, I don't even have bb gun yet I wear camouflage pants, but I wear these things 24 hours without anyone watching without FB/IG posts or likes I only post here every now and then among fellow jacket enthusiasts , is it still considered a costume?

we adopt elements we like and mix and match them into our style as long as we stay consistent and honestly loving the way we dress even without community support or keep loving and wearing it even when the stuff are out of fashion, then it is not a costume, it is just part of our identity.

to me it is more costumey if we follow internet fashion guru to dress certain way to impress others or to get effect on others, for example we like our unwashed raw jeans and leather jacket and boots but to impress a girl and to show our more approachable metro modern man we change our dress into cream colored tapered ankle pants chino and loafer or airforce one and somekind of blazer or varsity jacket even when we totally hate the way we look, we might look normal and updated but honestly we are costuming more that way.

so to me costumey is when you don't feel at home with the way you dress, if you feel self conscious in the stuff you wear then it is a costume for you. I would feel very weird in full suit and neck tie, or batik shirt, or wearing shorts and sandals if I were to go to bali and forced to wear bermuda pants and sandals and barong shirt that is the ultimate costume for me
