Great news for San Francisco Bay Area fans of classic horror movies: The Balboa Theatre (3630 Balboa St. at 37th Avenue, San Francisco www.balboamovies.com) is having a Boris Karloff film festival in June! June 2 through the 8th and then June 16th through the 22nd. For the opening night the great man's daughter Sara Karloff will be in person to speak. She will be showing rare home movies of life with her father. This is truely a once in a lifetime event.
26 classics will be shown including:
Frankenstein (1931)
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
The Old Dark House (1932)
The Black Room (1934)
Scarface (1932)
The Walking Dead (1936)
The Mask of Fu Manchu (1932)
The Raven (1935)
The Mummy (1932)
plus many other very rare films that you may not get another chance to see anytime soon on the big screen (and inside a classic old movie theater).
I'm going to try to make as many of these as I can. If any other Fedora Lounge members in Northern California are planning to attend perhaps we can meet up. PM me if interested.
