Tough crowd, you guys.
That dude looks 85% better than 95% of the guys who post photos of their "fits" here. Granted it's not a perfect reproduction of suit from 1935 but who gives a toss? It works.

Agree fully. This looks to me a guy wearing what he wants to wear, not copying some imaginary vision of what some self-styled era-conscious style nazi wishes to impose (this should not be read as a reference to any particular post here, but rather as a general comment)... Thus the suit is a suit, and a cool one, not a costume... Now, if it was me, I'd start the changes with the tie...:)

I posted this in the "Streetstyle" thread; no doubt he'll warrant a mauling from the peanut gallery, but I think this guy's outfit just works. Love the boots in particular.

I like every outfit I've seen in this thread at least a little, if not completely. I'd like the first guy's look better with a different shirt and tie, as others have said. Love the second photo, though I'd prefer to see the cuffs off the ground. And this last fellow, I feel, looks very unique and comfortable. Quite an unusual blend of different articles of clothing. He'd look right at home on a cool old Raleigh three-speed or a Dutch city bike.

This past year on the Sartorialist I've seen some very fitted suits with great silhouettes. Almost 30s style in cut. The photos were all taken in Italy.

The fellow with the stocking cap looks o.k. to me although I could never figure out why anyone would wear fingerless gloves unless of course they're a pickpocket. Maybe that's what the bag is for: lightfingered loot.

I tried to post a negative critique of one of the outfits and it was not accepted. No wonder all the comments are positive!
When Scott first began posting his photos on the men's forums (Style Forum and Ask Andy) his subjects would routinely receive a thorough critique, often on the harsh side. Of course he had no editorial power so he usually kept quite, unless the subject was an industry player; then he would attempt to mount a defence on their behalf. When he got the Condé Nast gig he immediately abandoned the forums and started his blog, where everything he posts is worshipped.

Mike the barber! Not only is he a master of the tonsorial arts in NYC (he does spot-on period hair cuts and shaves at FSC Barber) but also has a 10s-20s-themed radio show on eastvillageradio.com. A great guy.

I wasn't sure which thread to revive, so I just went for the longest one.

I stopped by the Sartorialist (I tend to take inspiration from the old Italian guys), and I found this great picture of a guy in Florence. Everything, from the old-school haircut, to the check suit could have been posted here. I think it is a great look.
