Were there inline roller skates (that looked like that) prior to 1980?
The first documented roller skate dates back to 1735 and there have been a number of incarnations since, most of which featured three to five wheels in a straight line. The "quad" skate (i.e., two wheels front and rear) was designed in 1863 in an effort to make roller skates easier to maneuver. But inline skates as we know them now didn't come into existence until Scott and Brennan Olsen founded the Rollerblade company in 1982. So, yeah, if that's supposed to be a circa-1950s pin-up, those skates are anachronistic.
