A few works by my Uncle Nat (Ramer) who came to this country in 1902 from Galicia (currently Ukraine). He worked as a WPA artist in the 1930s and continued to paint from his studio above Max's Kansas City in NYC into the 1980s. The first is an earlier work (1940s I would guess) which still displays a nod to fellow countryman Marc Chagall among others. The hats become harder to see in the later works. He always wore a beret in the years I knew him.
