This hat has only left my melon because my wife won't let me sleep in it. Granite, inspired by Jauntyone and a few others here. Frank

Wish me luck on the combination and matching,

Best of luck on your similar quest Woody! I hopefuly will fulfill mine just a couple of months before you.

Does anybody have a hat from Art in the color PECAN?
I'm looking for a brown/earthy shade & have the gray side covered with my Jay Lord custom that seems to be granite & looking to go darker than my Buckaroo in natural.
Any opinions welcome & appreciated...

Man, I don't check the site for a few days while on vacation, and look at all of the holiday goodies stacking up!

Mulceber, beautiful steel VS...that 2" brim looks great on you!

Handlebar Bart, you've gotten some fantastic results in letting Art do his thing, and this is amazing...I've said that my next VS will have a welted edge, and yours confirms it for me. Can't wait to get my hands on one...and love that ribbon treatment!

Frussell, I was worried that you were going to keep us in limbo with that first post of yours, but you came through with pics of a great granite fedora...I almost went with that color instead of the steel of my last VS. It looks great on you--that bound brim is perfect.

GClark, gotta love that Trackside...nice to see the hats from Art's gallery on the head of a lucky Lounger!

Incredible hats, everyone :eusa_clap --wear them in good health during the new year!
Best,
Steve

[In short, I want to have a seduction to wear on my head ;) and, from what I see in these pages, Art seems to be the man for the job:D:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap]

You can see someone when your hat mania is that far advanced...Art is probably a malign influence in your present state of mind...seek intervention from the appropriate medical professional....:D

Bit the bullet, now I just have to choose from amongst those I want because I can't afford to get all 7 just now ;)

Ok, this really belongs in the "What Hat Am I Wearing Today?" thread, but I thought it worth posting here as a way to bump the Art Fawcett HOF thread back to page one where it belongs. Let's get some new VS hats on this page, guys...do I have to buy another one myself? (The answer, of course, is yes, but I'm just looking for any rationale to do so!)

My Steel VS whippet clone, on a sunny day in January at L.A.'s Griffith Observatory.

jazzncocktails, that is a great ensemble. I wish I had your weather so I could wear one of my fedoras today. Can I ask what the brim size is on the VS beauty?

Wow, that is beautiful...... :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
The slanted knot on the ribbon gives it a lovely touch of 'momentum' that works very nicely with the slope of the bash.

Is it too late to propose this as one of the nicest hats of 2009?

Enjoy!
Rob StC

Just in case of any confusion:
Sorry, somehow managed to leave out the quotes from H-B Bart, who's hat this most definitely is! Wish it were mine, though.....

What type of bash is this called? I like the slope of it, but I just don't know what to call it. Please forgive me for being so ignorant, my vocabulary in the hat world is still limited.

Thank you!

Its a diamond crown, but the rake (or backward slope) can be achieved with other bashes too. Thanks
