I'd seen ribbon work similar to this style on a Poet hat once and couldn't decide if I'd want it on a personal lid or not.

It is certainly distinctive, and quite attractive. Maybe if i pick up the saxophone again...

I was asked to build a "stage hat" Doug. I'm not sure I would wear this design for an everyday hat either.

I can't think of a better place to document a hat I recently made for a Blues Icon who I cannot name as I promised not to use him in any publicity. I borrowed a design from Michelle Poyer Sleeman and did it in Camel. I think it came out great, but you be the judge, View attachment 185280
Wow, I can’t get over the very refined curves and smooth texture. That hat wasn’t made, it was born. Beautiful looking piece of Art.

Magnificent Art! I see a problem for your customer though. The man that's wearing that hat is going have a hard time singing the blues.

Here’s a newer (newest) VS lid for me that gets a lot of comments on the fine fuzzy finish. It’s Blue steel, but the light can change the color quite a bit...
