g.durand, you did well with both the granite and the whiskey! The colors, dimensions, bound brim, and the ribbon work speak well for your eye and the talent of Art! Great hats and you wear them well! Enjoy your new treasures!

Rogera and Preacher Man--Thank you both. I give all the credit to Art on these. I just had the idea, but he put it into form. I went back and forth between Whiskey and Pecan, too. I'm sure I would have been as happy with Pecan. I just about flipped a coin.

Beaver hair in the wild; Today, April 18th, is a wild snow day. My beaver hair fedora is put to the test. No worries mate!

My VS in a sage colored felt is keeping me comfortable in the accumulating spring snow.

Eric, what breed of friendly dog are you hanging out with in the photo? Oh, and love the sage colour.

Duper; Tris (Beatrice) and Tio (Horatio) are Port. Water Dogs. The breed comes in all black, black with white and brown. The coats can be curly or wavy. Ours are curly. Our dogs are AKC Show Champions already and hence rarely see the teased out show coat that they are frequently recognized for. My wife, if she had the only vote, would give them a retriver clip which is the low clip rear and thicker fuller front, legs, maine and head. I prefer a uniform overall length that changes for the seasons. The neighbors a couple of doors down see me in the morning walking them and call them the "Obama Dogs." Our President Obama has a Port. Water Dog also. They are GREAT companions and friends.

Our PWD's love the snow. Although the snow can ball up in their fur. I took the pic after we roamed, ran and played in the yard. If the lake was open they would have enjoyed retrieving their water toys or chasing ducks/geese. Squirrels in the yard are just dog toys as far as they are concerned.

Best, Eric -

Rabbit as usual you've posted some knock out ensembles with perfectly matching hats! You've certainly got a keen eye for coordinating colors and textures. Thank you for sharing! I like those hats from Art. I've just sent a deposit for my first Art Lite. From what I've read and seen from your posts and others, I know it wont be my only hat from Art! Thanks again Rabbit! You wear it all real well!

Thank you, Sir.
The credit for doing shots from all four angles goes to FL member Benny Holiday who posted portraits much earlier in this thread - several years ago - wearing his VS Silvermist. They were the first pictures I saw that showed one and the same hat from all angles on the head.

Very nice linen suit! What was the provenance?

Thank you, cookie. The lighter shades of navy are perfect for summer.
It's made by Scabal's MTM factory in Güdingen, Germany.
The french navy linen is in Scabal's own books; they also have a fantastic light grey linen (also with the mottled texture, like the french navy), and a mustard/yellowish linen, among others. The weaver is Bower Roebuck in Yorkshire who is owned by Scabal. Scabal is one of the merchants that own their own production.

I live not far from there. As for ordering online, I don't know the procedure, or whether it's possible. Try the store locator on their website. After all, you need to see the swatch books and the pattern catalogues, and a contact person to figure out the details. But we're getting off-topic... feel free to PM me.

VS Silverbelly w/ 19 L black

The Silverbelly lightweight felt again, today worn with tan gabardine wool, block stripe silk knit, sky blue broadcloth, and linen square. Yellow Mazarin socks for a change of pace. Spring is most welcome after an extended winter.

My new Art Lite, came today. This time inspired by the pre 1940's western thread. And especially by Alanfgag.
A 6 inch tall straight sided silverbelly came with a very cool ribbon. Art did it again, thank u Art.
Now it's time to get used to such a tall hat.
