Thanks! We sure are lucky to have Art, who is dedicated to making custom hats affordable enough for the common man. His work is outstanding; I'm thrilled with my objets d'Art!

Thank you Jauntyone...makes a grown man blush!!!

Honestly Guy's, you have no idea how much fun this work is for me and as long as I can keep the prices where many can participate, I get to make more hats. So you see, this is all about me

:eusa_clap Second that:eusa_clap Price may be right, but it`s really priceless - prices will be forgotten in twenty years, but the work of Art will remain treasured

God save the Queen's hat!

I have a slight problem that does not quite seem to merit its own thread, but that pertains to a hat made by Mister Fawcett, so I have elected to post it here:

Earlier today I decided that as the weather has become reliably cool, I should bring The Sesquipedalian out of its box to join The Selcouth, which I had brought out several weeks ago. Shortly after I took it out of its box, I eagerly began to put it onto my head and as I did, I tugged on the front and rear of the brim to pull it onto my head. As I did this, I thought that I heard a subtle, single pop and as I began to ponder that, I noticed that the ribbon had sagged and wrinkled at the front and upon further inspection there was a sagging wrinkle at the back as well. The whole ribbon seems loose around the crown, although I have not tested this too much, for fear of worsening whatever has happened.

My only guess is that I might have caused some stitches to burst when pulling it onto my head, but I know too little about the construction of hats to say.

Can anyone say what has gone wrong and how I should go about having the hat mended? Is it safe to wear the hat even so?

I can't really afford to send it to anyone or pay any repair fees at present, but within a few month, surely will, so I want to know in advance how I should best act.

There was a time that you could have taken to you neighborhood hatter and have fixed up. But that is not true anymore. I would save your nickels and send it to Art. I can't say for sure, but it does sound like you pulled loose some threads holding the ribbon on. I doubt it would be an expensive repair.

My latest work of 'Art'

This is a bit late as I have been quite busy recently, but here are some pictures of the latest work of Art I received for my birthday.

Thanks again Art, this is another show-stopping creation that has garnered quite a few comments the few times I have worn it.

I really like that one. The blue isn't showing up well on my screen, but I can imagine how well it looks in person with the red accent. It be nice to see an outside shot..............with the noggin of course:D

GClark, that Strat clone looks terrific. Isn't that natural color just beautiful? Could we get a pic looking down on it to see the ribbon? :eusa_clap

Hey Art, the masses are chanting:

We Want Oxblood! We Want Oxblood! We Want Oxblood!

You might see this link if an explanation is needed:

Oxblood

Thank you for being such a good sport, and I hope I am not putting you in too awkward a position to discuss a competitor's color/product.

Sincerely, from one of your most devoted fans!
