The above pic has been posted on the 2012 Fedora Fest thread but I wanted to re-post it here.

WOW.

The hat that Art Fawcett is wearing just plain oozes class! Very dstinguished looking hat on a daper fellow. I love this hat. The colors, textures, the open weave of the straw, ribbon details, dimensions - everything just speaks CLASS.

Some hats just make you say WOW. Best Eric -
Yes sirreeee, I love this hat too!

Our brother Seabass panned "Pandora" many years ago Fed when I first made one for him. There is also a company in Ca. of the same name so at the time I discouraged using that term. We don't need no stinking lawsuits eh?

My First VS Straw

When Art was down here in SoCal besides having a great time at the trunk showand seeing some amazing hats, I picked out a Semi-Colado hat body. It came yesterday and looks amazing. I was up in Oregon last week and got to see Art's shop and the finished product before it was went out. I didn't think I would be able to wear it for awhile but the weather turned plenty warm to wear it today. Here are some pictures.

I've often asked Art if he just happened to have a nice Semi Colado hat body kicking around, I've wanted one for when the weather gets warm. The answer has always been "no!" - until this time.

Art told me he had this body and it would work for what I wanted. To be honest I wasn't totally convinced, but then Mr. Fawcett knows this stuff way more than I ever will.

Here's the photo Art sent me of the unfinished body - looked to be all brim and no crown to me...

And here's the incredibly nice Panama that arrived at my door...

The ribbon comes straight from "The Boulevard" model in Art's new Modern Times lineup.
To say I'm happy with the result would be a huge understatement - I call it Panama Perfection!

Thanks, Art!
Fabulous!

On the WHAYWT thread, someone suggested I post this tribute to Art's work. It's a Sixties (?) Borsalino Savoy that I purchased from a Lounger, knowing it was a bit too small at 6 7/8. Never was able to stretch it. So I sent it to Art and had him resize it up to 7, and put on a dark blue ribbon with his signature silver stripe. Here is a "before" shot (the gray has a brownish tinge here):

And "after":

Definite improvement, yes?

I asked the same question about a week ago, and Art sent these. I'm sure he's made a load of progress since then, D-guy. Hope you are well, my friend!!
