WOW, I wish I had logged in yesterday!! Thank you all for the good wishes. Rusty, I'll take you up on that one!! I'm trying to arrange a few days in Tn while on my way to Fl in Nov so it could happen!! It was a normal day in the shop, Birthday or no, but that made it a good day. Cheers everyone!!

A quick shout out here to kvell about my new VS!!!
From Art's cache of early 1950's NOS felt, a color they called "Mahoot." I couldn't turn up much info about that color or even the word (although a mahout is an elephant jocky).
This color is simply sublime. Very much like the color of Art's light weight Black cherry, it has much more distinctly brown component. And the colors can appear dramatically different depending on the light. The effect is illustrated by the shade variations in the three photos.

Not easily. It seems to be in the blue/gray family.
