Hey Art, what did you do to the brim on that hat. I like it. Does that mean you will be able to do that on all your hats. That hat is a beauty. Has a real "wow" factor to it. :eusa_clap

As I thought...

this hat is a head turner. I had numerous people stop me and compliment me on such a fine hat.

Art,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you personally and publicly for such exquisite craftsmanship. I'll be back in line for another before too long!

Duggap, I don't know what you mean? The brim binding? I didn't do anything different on this hat than I do with every other.

Thank you for all the encouragement Gents. It means alot to me to know the work is appreciated.:D

Art, look at the picture he posted. It looks like you stitched the edge of the brim. That why I was wondering if that was your light weight.

Hi,

Could it be you are confusing the ribbon bound around the trim with a turned and sewn down brim? In my monitor, that ribbon shows a colour very close to the felt - maybe in your monitor it looks even closer and may look like it is a turned brim?

Regards!

That must be it. On my monitor it looks like it was stitched without a ribbon. I believe Art did a brim turn under and stitched it on a lightweight felt. I just hoped he was able to do something like that on a regular felt, although I don't see how it would be possible but we can hope.[huh] Of course the real answer is, "don't get old like me, both memory and eyes go." I did go back and look real hard and I can see the ribbon on it just barely. I just need a new monitor. Sorry Art.

Art, I hope I am not speaking out of turn here. But I did ask Art to try and turn under and stich a dress weight for me. He tried but the felt was too heavy for his machines. So I had him bind it instead. I'm actually very pleased with it!

No worries Univibe, the problem still isn't solved. As soon as it becomes critical I'll address it again & see if I can't have an attatchment built to handle it.
OK, I understand now Duggap...old monitor + old eyes = confusion:eusa_doh:

So. . .

Which VS model is that silverbelly/blue ribbon hat? Or was it a custom design from the ground up?

It's Silvermist Neil, and it's "from the ground up". Maintcoder just asked for something similar to one in the Client designed gallery and left it in my hands. This is the result.

Outstanding results, Art and Maintcoder. I'm going to have to take a closer look at that client designed gallery and a closer look at my silvermist sample. That one is quite extraordinary, not that they all aren't.

Yep... Art has made a few hats for me, so he knows my preference/style so for this order I said - 'something like that' in referencing the picture on the client designed gallery. I patiently let Art do his thing and was very surprised when I received the shipping confirmation (I still thought I was a couple weeks out!). I was even more blown away when I saw this hat for the first time upon taking it out of the box. In my opinion, Art really knocked it out of the park with this one!
