Nice hats Seabass, what are the dimensions on those?
It made me thinking again, eventough I just got three of Art's hats in a short period of time. They're to nice not to go for it.

"sayyy Brando do you have a black lite with brown ribbon set up?"

Not yet- so far I've resisted Black. Yours has me rethinking that- it's killer!

+1. Hey Brando you have a couple of totally sharp ribbon felt combinations also. From the pics you have posted, I see that black would totally work for you. I am seriousely thinking about black and the dark colors after seeing these.

Seabass; Your Art-Lightweight hats are just plain SLICK. Very sweet fedoras sir. My eyes dart between the rich color of the felts and the contrasting binding and ribbons. I am a fan of your hats. They are terrific. You will have to share some pics of you wearing them on the "What Hat Are You Wearing Thread."

The darker colored felts in the light weight are a great warm weather statement. All to often we get trapped into the white or light color spectrum for the entire summer. In your area of the US you exerience warmer temps for a longer period of the year. I see these as being very functional hats. They have a place in our warmer weather possibilities.....As the afternoon draws on, in the warmer weather, the darker felts get pulled on as you head out to the evening club or other activities. Lots of possibilities for the black and brown. Not to mention they are smooth and classy looking.

As the text above recounts that dark colors work for wamer weather may be the obvious to many, but in my neck of the US it happens rarely.

You are styling Seabass! Nice collaboration with Art. Ribbon color, work and dimensions/flanging is superb. I tip my hat towards Oregon and N. California this morning in respect to the grand hats.

Best, Eric -

first of all thank you for your Kind comments ! & a second thanks for the Killer Stratoliner I got off you last year.. that hat gets rotation time..
as for Black & brown hats i just have tooooo many of each & i was missing something,,,& i could not find vintage in chocolate or Black in Lite Felts like the Borso feather weights
those vintage dress weights or bunny mixes are tooo hot fo my climate & just collect dust.
so i showed ART some pics & said i wish i had a brown like this & the black hat he just did his thing... i really feel these 2 are (go-For) hats are great due to the Lite Felt & i could not find vintage in the dimensions i wanted . plus Black & Brown Can be Dressed Up & Down so i wear Fedoras/Caps daily for over 30 years so i need to be comfy
at my age that is my priorty comfy yes !

Hi Smoothsailor
the brown brim 2 1/2, crown front peak 4 3/8, side crown height 4 7/8, rear 4 1/2
black brim 2 7/16, crown front peak 4 3/4, side crown height 4 3/4, rear 3 3/4
both are flanged straight not snapped up which i like because i have a weird head shape so if i snapped down the front i cant see well & i would have to tilt the front high.
so i tend to straight flange most of my hats, even wider brims like the vintage Strat i got from S B G, & im a X L O extra long oval
My next Art hat i will get a little more width & height . but these are perfect for me as is

Thank u Seabass, I started of wearing stingy brim hats, I slowly move towards bigger brims. But I like to keep the brim snapped up, or straight out. That's why your hats caught my I. When time comes I go for a dove.

I asked Art to recreate this Dunlop Duplex.

This is what showed up in my mailbox yesterday.

I am absolutely FLOORED!!!! Art did an absolutely incredible job!!! This is the kind of work that I believe sets Art above other hatters. He recreated a hat that's not only extremely rare, but executed it so perfectly. I have to have one now!
