Brando - very nice Pecan VS.

Hoosier - looking forward to seeing yours. I also have a Silverbelly VS which is one of my favorite hats.

For photos, you have to upload them to a hosting site (I use SmugMug) and link to them.

Rabbit; Jeepers man you have nice taste in hats! You, no doubt, are the best hatted man in your neighborhood. I like your new hat sir.

Brando; Sharp, manly hat hat. Knocking about casual or even a sport coat that hat is perfect. I can see it being worn all over town. Cheers for the hat!

I love my most recent VS dove hat. As I posted last week the VS hat was a recent Art Fawcett creation. I asked him to start with a Stetson Stratoliner. I have seen many of the VS strat starting point hats, ala Jauntyone's recent sage green, and really enjoyed the style and lines. For me, the ability of the hat to transmogrify and stylishly work from town to country, state to international is perfect.

We are products of our influences. In my dressing room I have a couple of Sat. Evening Post advertisements of the Stetson Startoliner. Many times I have read the ads and worked them over in my mind to see it from both Stetson's and the consumer's eyes. "Right for going places." Excellent ad line.

I see my VS dove as "Excellent for going places."

Again, I am extremely fortunate to own this hat and appreciate Mr. Fawcett’s skills. As to the felt - PERFECT. The dove is a color that all should consider. The dove color is rich in color tones and shades. I am reminded of occasions watching the doves on the trees in the backyard. The color of the doves changes in shade of purple, gray, blue, blue-green in the variances of the sun-light. The dove felt color is much like this. What a felt color!

I have included a couple of pics below of the 3 Art Fawcett hats that I am fortunate to own.

Grainy, poor resolution shot resulting from the harsh winter light in our porch this morning. I added a couple of reindeer toys that are on shelves propping up other scandinavian family heorlooms. Let me assist the viewer; From 10:00pm is Dark Moss, Sahara, and Dove.

I have included liner shots as the insides are truly pretty! From 10:00pm is Dark Moss with green liner dark brown leather band, Sahara with brown liner and lighter brown band and Dove with black liner and dark brown band.

Less busy shot below. Moss, Dove, Sahara (from 10:00pm clockwise.)

Thanks for the kind words, gents- I enjoy these VS hats tremendously, and I would never have discovered them without finding out about 'em here.

Eric- that hat is right up my alley! I think I may just ask Art to copy it next time 'round. Love the color, the style and particularly that bow!

Beautiful images, SBG!
I totally agree about the dove felt - a marvelous color indeed. If I were to have one single VS it would have to be a Dove.

Just wanted to celebrate my VS Moss. Its a few months old now. I know this thread generally features new hats, but I just enjoy this hat and wanted to share. Man this hat is a perfect wearing hat. In Minnesota, USA it is upper 30's F and foggy. Crazy winter weather. I am down checking the boathouse and lake. Remembering my swimming VS sahara hat shortly ago, I wisely took off my hat when the dogs and I have been playing by the open water.

Here is a pic of my safe and dry Moss VS hat.

Wear your VS hats in enjoyment, Eric -

My new Chocolate VS got delivered today. I'll add more pics over the next couple of days. Just can't get the light right! The color on this is so rich it looks edible---but, I like hats more than cameras. Thanks Art for another stunningly beautiful hat!!

Love, love, love it.

(If asked, I always say my Blue Smoke is my favorite, but it seems like these days I'm always wearing the Chocolate. You're right: it's a fantastic color.)

Okay, here are more attempts at capturing the beauty of this hat with a cell phone camera. The chocolate color is difficult to capture with such limited means. I failed to mention before that Art absolutely nailed the dimensions and proportions perfectly from a few photos I emailed him of the hat I wanted him to replicate.

I love the proportions and shape - fairly moderate brim flange and a straight-sided block with center dent.

The dear reader may notice that I'm nuts about the lighter VS felt colors. :D Blue Smoke and Dove may well be my favorites among them.

Art, your work never ceases to impress. Thank you, Sir! To me, the VS hats are the perfect accompaniment to the vintage hats.

Absolutely beautiful hat.

Jbucklin; The chocolate brown is very sharp. I like the profile shot as it shows the features or your special creation.

Best, Eric -
