Excellent Hat!

You wear the Jazzman well, Tom! :eusa_clap

I have had my eye on one too however when I discussed it with Art, and told him about my wife's reaction to the crown height on one of my other VS hats, he warned me that the Jazzman has one of the tallest crowns he makes.
I've got to say that after seeing yours, I might just have to throw caution to the wind and get one! ;)

Mr. Fusion,

Strange that you tell that - my wife did not like the crown height either.
But I love the crown height and every other aspect of my "little friend" -as she called him - I wear the Jazzman with pride and she is OK with it.
So go ahead - you have my blessings.:)

Indy,

Thanks for the compliment.

Tom

Tom

The Brooklyn's crown height at 5 3/4" is the closest hat I have to the 6" crown of the Jazzman. What's a 1/4"? ;)

Oh, and thanks for your blessing! Us Tom's have to stick together! ;)

MrFusion, I had Art make me the Jazzman (it has become one of my favorites) and he made the Crown just a tad smaller and the ribbon just a tad narrower. Now it is no taller than my HST which I also like a lot. I, too have a Brooklyn, and if you can pull that off you could pull off the Jazzman. But it is tall.:) See a pic in "Post your new hats here" on page five.

Duggap,
Art told me he could reduce the crown height and the Jazzman is certainly on the radar for me. (BTW, I have seen the hats you mention in the "Post your new hats here" thread and I am still jealous!) With hat funds being scarce and my eyes much larger than my wallet (I'm sure I'm not alone here), I am trying to decide if I might not want to work with Art on a total custom hat. Thing is, I still like the Jazzman and the HST. Darn that Art and his wonderful hats!!!! I just gotta have my fix, just one more...

JUST HEARD FROM ART!!
My first official "Work of Art" should be winging its way to me this week.
I am speechless. Can't wait to show it off. I wanted something like the HST model, but with more closely matching silverbelly ribbon, and no pin. I know felt is hot in the summertime, but I still wear my Adventurebilt, and am looking forward to a lighter colored hat.

I ordered it literally the same day I ordered an Aero Barnstormer. I was a little curious to see which one would be finished first, and it looks like Art won that race. That's good, since I can wear the hat in the summertime. Well, you know. (I'm exited to get the jacket too, but won't be able to wear it any time soon, we hit 100 in the valley yesterday.)

I will of course post pics when it arrives. I've really enjoyed the whole ordering process, and if the hat truly is as good as everyone says (I have NO doubts it will be), then I hope this is just the first of many more to come. I already have colors for my next two picked out.lol

Soon, you will be one of us - the ones hopelessly addicted to Art's wonderful creations! :p

I can't wait to see your first work of Art! :)

Knock,knock...the postman arrived with 2 boxes...

It does not get much better than this! 2 boxes arrived at my door this morning. My elegant midnight blue VS diamond bash, as well as a stingy panama, ordered from PB and bashed by Art in what I requested..."an unconventional center dent only, and elegant ribbon". Spot on! Once again, proof of perfection with flair. Many thanks Art.

It was yours that inspired me to get this one!

Actually HandlebarBart, it was yours posted on page 21 that was immediately after my first VS that inspired me to order this one! It`s a 2" brim, with 4 1/4" front. Red lining. Thanks for the original post!

Daizawaguy, if you ever get tired of those two hats, my address is...

ESPECIALLY if they're 7 or 7 1/8....:D

Those are both nice. Enjoy them.

Two nice ones there, daizawaguy. I sent my conformer back to Art last Wednesday. Seeing these makes me even more anxious to have mine, but Art tells me his que is 10 weeks out. I should have it at about the right time to wear it this fall. Sounds about right to me!

Thanks, I think now you have inspired me, the look of that one is really eye catching. The diamond with the narrow brim, just great:eusa_clap

ITS HERE!!!

My Art Fawcett arrived today, it really is superb. The felt is so soft. I had to spray it with a small amount of distilled water and re-bash it slightly to get it to keep its shape.

I told Art I wanted the basic silverbelly, 5 3/4 crown, 2 5/8 bound brim, similar to the HST, but with a more closely matching silverbelly ribbon and brim ribbon. I wanted something close to an open road, but with a slightly wider ribbon. I didn't specify a lining color, but thought about saying just white. I'm glad I said nothing, this red is very nice. The ribbons have a slight gold hue that bring out the color of the felt nicely.

Here is the hat not on my head.

And here it is on my head. I would love feedback on the bash and brim width, and if they work well with my face.
