I know for me personally the new box size is the difference between getting the hat in my mailbox and having to wait two days to stand in line for an hour and a half to wrangle the hat from the Post Office who seem to think it is funny to tell me they can't give me the hat because it is out on the truck even though they can't deliver it because I am at work at all day and have to wait another day and take my lunch break to drive 10 miles in Denver traffic to stand in line again to procure my newest work of Art.

So the new box sizes? I like 'em Art! :)

OK folks ... I have received my conformer and felt colors .... need some opinions!!! I really like the Granite as it seems to go with black and khaki. However I already have a charcoal gray Jaxon so I was thinking about the Natural felt to be more of my "brown" clothes hat. The problem is that I suspect I might not wear the Jaxon much as I think I will like my new work of Art so much more I will want to wear it all the time .... so what do you think???? Go with the granite and give up on the Jaxon ... or go with the Natural and wear both???? Or does the natural color go with black also?????

Thanks
Kk

Do you wear blacks or browns more? Art will blow your jaxon out of the water either way, so I would go where it would get the most use.

Or go with something unique. Greens or blues can work either way, and there are some stunning examples in this thread.

The jaxon will get a lot less time in the sun. Art will make you more than one hat. I just got a natural from Art and find it extremely versatile. I have three VS gems and find I am MORE likely to not go brown on brown or green on green. Colors that compliment or contrast instead of conform expand your choices. and yes that granite is on my short list for no. 4.

I am waiting on a granite from Art right now. I have natural and silverbelly from him already. I also have other hats in granite. My thin ribbon silverbelly is my "go to" hat at this time. The natural is great, but may I suggest to you whiskey. Picks of whiskey are absolutely stunning and it is on my short list. My advice after owning two: The hat will be your "go to" hat no matter the color so get what you want most right now.

Good question. After having spent more mirror minutes than I care to fess up to looking at the effect of a gray hat, tan hat and brown hat with various clothes colors, I decided that gray hats are the most limited in the spectrum--only seemed to look good with blue suits and sport coats, and not even very well with gray. They would match black obviously. Brown hats seem a little more rangy. A camel colored Borsalino I have didn't seem to match well with blue suit; it's OK with brown stuff. But I was struck by the narrow role I could give to a gray hat.

The different greys are different. Art's granite is a grey with brown undertones, unlike other greys with blue undertones. As a result granite does go with tan or blues.

I wear brown shoes and kahki slacks probably 70% of the time .... but all my jackets and coats (that I like) are black ..... yes I am a fashion nightmare! I will probably purchase a new coat before the season but I like wool a lot and wool coats are always gray or black (don't know why but I can never find a leather coat I really like). To many dicisions ...

Dano .. I too have been a little disapointed with the fact that my charcoal hat isn't as versitily as I thought!

Jabos .. yea i like the wiskey too ..... to many dicisions to bad i don't have unlimited funds I would just get one of each color!!!

cptjeff ... Great!!! now I have to look at the green and blue samples again

So ... I have decided to ignore the fact that I own a gray hat as it will probably never get worn!!! Good news is I will own a beeter hat for rain snow ect!!
