sock it to me!!

the finest argyles in the world are made by burlington ,they are absurdly expensive though>they have the small brass rivet so all will know your taste and willingness to spend about $30 a pair on socks!!

I used to have a knee high pair of blue argyle burlingtons - my Mum got them for me as a gift. They was oh so lovely. I wore them to death though, and a hole soon appeared in the toe and heel :(

Where is a good place to get decent, inexpensive argyle socks? I want to get about 10 pairs and don't want to spend $30 each.

I can only wear all cotton socks and so have several pairs of argyles that are close to 100% cotton. Also, I love bright colored socks, rarely wear white.

I love all those wonderful bright colored argyles in the photo. Are they cotton?

Hey Univibe88-
Try here: www.joyofsox.com Although they are cotton blends, they do have a reasonably priced selection with some snazzy colors available...
there are some interesting socks there.. But does anyone else feel that socks have gone the same way as ties did in the 80's? Comedy socks anyone???? Please just walk away...
I remember meeting a potential Client only to note that he was wearing Homer Simpson socks.. needless to say, we didn't get on

i did see a thread on AAAC where someone was wearing a business suit with a tie to the office without socks!!

You'd hate me then. lol If they were ankle socks, they might be cycling socks. Except when I'm dressing up, that's all I wear. I know a few cyclists that do the same. I have some crazy ones: pirates, Arizona flags, beer mugs, coffee cups, pink flamingos, red polka dots, etc. My favorite cycling team wears argyle.

I found some nice cotton blend argyles at the Banana Republic outlet near me. Paid $3 a pair, I think. Wish I'd bought more. One pair in a brown/tan pattern, one in charcoal with an argyle strip running up the side. May have to stop in this week!!! :D

Looking for thick Argyle socks........

I don't like thin socks. I almost always wear black athletics because I can't find thick dress socks, particularly Argyle. Any help is appreciated.

I buy mine at the Gap and J.C. Penny's. They're thick and last long enough. Pretty crazy colors too sometimes.

I'm not so concerned about the thickness, but I do like wool argyle's. I've found those on the Brooks Brothers Web site. They're not too bad when they're on sale.

I hear ya- I find myself wearing thick wool hiking socks a lot just because they're comfortable.
