My original intent was to make a fun thread that showed some photos of ourselves through our more awkward years. It's fun to compare how we looked then to how we look now.

Awkward huh? Careful what you wish for ..

Most all the photos are in storage I guess, here is a blurry on the way to the prom pic...I went stag, but with a 3 other dateless acquaintances, it was way more fun than the prom I went to with a date. I was loner in school, had an old boyfriend who didn't want to attend, but all the "mean girls" agreed I had the best dress. LOL

Everyone here has made bad hair choices at least once in their lives. And I'm sure you have too, Miss Thorazine!!

OK, here's the embarrassing prom photos that I could find.
I think my date and I had the 80's look down! This was 1989. He was my first love, I was just 13 in this picture, he was 17 although he certainly doesn't look it. The theme was "Hold Onto The Night", a sappier song couldn't be found!


And here's me and my high school sweetheart, senior prom 1993. Love both of our do's in this one!!

... I will be a good sport here and post one of mine. The year was 1985 and I ended up going to three different proms. I had a very busy social calender. Here I am in all my mid-eighties glory.

My vintage prom photo

OK, here's a more "vintage" prom photo--way back to 1977 in my senior year of high school. Our family home had burned to the ground just 4 months before and money was tight. I sewed my prom dress and thought it turned out really nice. At least no other girl had the same dress as mine. It's also got that 'pinafore look' that was popular in the 70s. The prom committee decorated the place very economically. If you look closely, the moon is made with yards and yards of tin foil over a big piece of cardboard. My date and I looked pretty cheesy, but hey, it was the 70s and I had the non-typical short hair!

Thanks Red!! Actually my smile is so big in that picture because my sweetheart was squeezing my waist just as the photographer snapped the camera!lol!!
You know it's funny you say the Jamie Gertz comment. I actually haven't heard that in a while, but I got it a lot when I was younger. Strange, I never saw it, but I do take that as a compliment
