Are there high quality thin leather jackets?

For me, to get to the sort of weight where I'd not be worried about damaging it all the time, sheep isn't going to be a 'hot weather' option. Goat is the birdy. Some years ago, I bought a Wested Indy as a travel jacket for warmer climes. Their goat is about as light as their lamb, but has that durability for which goat is famed, and a lovely, soft drape. The pockets on that design are ideal for all sorts of travel bits, and the lack of knits helps with temperature. If custom ordering, I'd go for cotton lined sleeves as well; satin doesn't breathe and sticks to the skin pretty quickly.

That said, the highest temperature I ever managed to wear even this "Summer" leather in was 22 Celsius - and I suffered at that (but for the fact I was in a very packed city and that jacket offered my only really secure pocket for my wallet, I would not have been wearing it. I did take it to China a couple of times in April / May one year, but it only got worn while actually travelling to and from Beijing, in the air-conditioned airport.

For 25 to 30 Celsius, unless you *really* run cold, leather just isn't an option. Personally, I struggle to wear a jacket of any sort in that temperature - one of the many reasons I hate Summer.

An MTC-127920 with no shearling and a light weight lining in this leather may be on the horizon for me. That is if someone isn't selling a GW in my size.

I was curious if you ever followed up on this desire. Are there any pictures of the MTC-127920 in a lightweight leather and without shearling?

I was initially very interested in the look of the BK Duke in Capeskin, but then I realised that they don't look so nice in a lightweight leather because it removes the structure of the collars.

I don't believe kangaroo leather was mentioned. It is typically thin (0.8mm) but tough as nails with a nice drape (used for motorcycle racing suits). And summer jackets. Below my Dolce & Gabbana in thin roo:
