Are prices for Vintage Leather jackets getting a bit insane?

I doubt those count because
1) the J-100 is not even a real vintage. It's the RM Buco repro
2) the seller does not look legit as I recognize many of the photos from Yahoo Auction Japan. Anyway, they claim that they are not the real sellers but merely agents.
The real item on Yahoo Auction Japan

There is another 2nd hand RM Buco repro from the same seller with crazy price

And there is this I think Lost Worlds A-2 that is marked as RM's A-2.

The outrageous mark-up over the price on Yahoo Auction Japan may be explained by the "agent" thing but the wrong description about the Lost Worlds, well I would not expect that from a legitimate Japanese seller on Yahoo Auction Japan.

There appear to be several eBay sellers who are simply listing jackets (and other clothing) available at stores in Japan, and marking up the prices. These sellers do not own or possess the jackets, and will only buy them if you pay their inflated prices. They are counting on uninformed buyers who are unable or unwilling to purchase the jackets directly from foreign retailers.

And it might just work. I see a lot of celebs wearing Buco's and all that stuff nowadays, you'd need just one of their... stylists or whatever you call people that buy clothes for famous people to notice the listing. Or fans with tons of money.

There are RM dealers in US and UK who offer way better deals than that ebay seller in particular. Anyway, that seller is definitely taking advantage of uninformed buyer when asking thousands for a Lost World A-2 that is marked as RM A-2. The way they carry business as "agent" just makes it a bit difficult for anyone to file any complaint at ebay.

The real item on Yahoo Auction Japan. Seller is the second hand store Junk Vintage. I have actually bought from them before.

Let's give this a bit of exposure. I'm REALLY curious what it'll go for. That's the only one I've ever seen in the wild.

Already over $1K for that fragile jacket and a full week of bidding left, that seller will be laughing all the way to the bank...looks like one of the chest buttons is held on with a nut and bolt or a rivet. Certainly a cool design but I wouldn't want to put those seams to the test, and I'm talking about just reaching for my beer forget anything else.

Still looks like a hotel doorman uniform to me. This one looks better than the others. Lovely design. Leather isn't overly impressive and it looks like the stitching won't survive much longer. Nice lining.

lol! Yeah, I was wondering about that button. And why's one handwarmer chain pull and not the other?
