I am continually impressed with the caliber of people I know and continue to meet here at the Lounge, and this weekend was no exception. Thank you all for making this weekend so much fun! I absolutely could not have asked for a more friendly, fun, and adventurous people to share a long weekend with, including Doc!

Setting up the camp Friday night (Nick, Jack, and Miss Queenie):

Here's a shot of our intrepid band, shortly after returning from Doc's "quick" climb up the side of the mountain and across that 18" sloping ledge! Left to right is Doc (our guide at the park), Tone, Miss Neecerie, Miss Queenie, myself, Nick Charles (kneeling), D.Jones, and Monty. Doc is a retired Marine (and a mustang), a retired police officer, aan EMT, has a Phd, and is now a park ranger (law enforcement). He's one of the most knowledgeable and friendly park rangers I've ever met...and he will absolutely hike your legs off!

I really wish this one were in focus, because it perfectly characterizes Doc's idea of an easy climb to the top of the waterfall! I hope someone got a little better version of this. This is Tone leading the way, with Nick close behind.

Queenie and Nick taking a well-deserved break on our second marathon hike on Sunday afternoon. We never did find that blasted supernova petroglyph we were looking for!

As if there is any question, but it's clear to me who should be be cast in IJ4! Tone, you are the man himself, with or without your serape!

Nick enjoys the view that following Doc up the side of a mountain will provide.

I can't thank Nick and Tone enough for doing all the legwork to set this trip up. That was the best possible campsite!

Hey, that's great! Mojave, you're too kind to post the shots right before I tripped, fell, stumbled, cried, ran off into the woods in a panic, or that whole alien abduction thing. Now that was uncomfortable. Thanks! Yes, Doc was a great guide. And his idea of a quick hike "up the hill a bit" sure isn't the average jaunt.

I really like that group shot. I'm hoping someone has a few more of those. Didn't get to use my camera for that one. That's a great one of Nick and Queenie there.

My pics are just about ready and there are quite a few.

Tone, those are great! I burst out laughing when I went to Day 2! lol Those eyes are too much!

ITG, thanks for insisting that Tone bring the eyes. I can't remember the last time I've laughed that hard. Tone totally sprang them on us with no warning, and had us all rolling in about 5 seconds! That was the funniest thing I've ever seen!

ITs a bailey cowboy hat called the Marfa. It came with a gus crease, the dogs got it and whooped the hell out of it. So I recreased it Montana Peak. ITs about 6 years old and was a pecan color.

Well it looks awfully good for something the dogs got ahold of.

My dog's self preservation instincts would kick in before chewing
a hat...

Man, now would be the time for the Arizona desert.
I am jealous. I have been a cactus fan at least as
long as I've been a felt fan.
