Interesting to note that with the summer oufits, the men in the illustrations are wearing hats (one assumes they are panamas) with the rear of the brim turned down, rather than up as one might expect.

The down turned brim all the way around on a Panama was a common way to wear the brim of a Panama. Today most favor the rear turned up like a Fur Felt Fedora.

I'm not overkeen on the brown trousers. That said, i think the use of the yellow bow tie and pocket square works well with the brown trousers. Given the right shades, I think it could look rather good.

Maybe this hat would tie the jacket and the trousers together.

i think the brown trousers and grey trousers with white jacket both work without any problem at all. personally i find that white, grey and black go with virtually any colour. that doesn't include colours which are simply horrible to begin with such as bright fuchsia.

I always wear my panama turned down all round, gives one that English country vicar look.

I do it with the optimo because it gives me the "guy I saw in a photo from 1932 look," but yeah, I know what you mean.

I had no idea there was ever a Do X shirt! Named after the world hopping giant flying boat of course, which they didn't need to tell anyone in 1932. Unlike the real Do X, I guess the shirt didn't go much of anywhere.
