anyone use Arbonne?

Does anyone here use or sell Arbonne or other vegan cosmetics? I'm trying to find cruelty-free versions of my old favorites. Does anyone know is Besame contains animal products or tests on animals?

This is what it says in the frequently asked questions section on the Besame website:

DOES BESAME DO ANY TESTING ON ANIMALS?
No! Besame does not test on animals.

Physician Formula doesn't test on animals and their new "Organic Wear" line contains no animal byproducts (but the brushes are made from goat's hair, so they aren't actually vegan in that respect). I use their pressed mineral powder and the loose kind (the non-organic ones). The pressed one has a synthetic brush while the loose does not, unfortunately. Hope that helped!

I don't want to start a gumble by mentioning PETA but they do have a Health and Beauty section on their website that gives recommended brands that are cruelty free here is the link http://www.petamall.com/health.asp

Sephora as well has a Natural & Organic section too, the link is very big so if you google Sephora Natural & Organic I'm sure it will come up.

Kamikat, I applaud you for making the effort to switch to humane products!! You can find complete lists of companies (both cosmetics and other consumer goods) that do and do not test on animals at http://www.caringconsumer.com. These lists also tell you which companies make all vegan products.

It is better to go by company, rather than by product. Some companies will release products and mark them as not being tested on animals, when all that means is that that particular product wasn't tested on animals. The parent company still engages in animal testing, which is where the big difference is made.

I mostly use MAC and Revlon products, neither of which are animal tested. I was surprised that Revlon doesn't engage in testing, and they don't advertise it at all! Mary Kay also does not test on animals. Thanks to these lists, I've pretty much eliminated products from companies that engage in animal testing from my beauty routine.

Has anyone tried their cosmetics?

I use MAC Studio foundation, because it's the only foundation I can find that matches my fair skin. A lot of other so-called fair fundations are too pink or peachy for me. But, i think the MAC foundation is causing me to break out. Does anyone know of any good cruelty-free, fair ivory foundations that are comparible to the MAC studio foundation that are a little easier on the skin?

I know, this may sound like I'm a nitpicker, but if you read articles about recommended brands from animal right organizations, please make sure that the recommended companies don't test their products and resources on animals, and that they also don't assign other companies to do this (which is a common trick in the beauty business - whitewashing and outsourcing at one time). The devil's in the details...

I have an acquaintance who started selling Arbonne about two years ago. I sort of felt compelled to purchase something since I knew her and since other people I knew had success with it.

Not so much, me. I have pretty clear but sensitive skin, so I ordered a basic cleanser/balancer/moisturizer set for sensitive types. I used it faithfully until they were all gone and didn't see any change. Didn't make my skin worse or break out, but for the price I'd like to see some improvement

I knew someone who used the anti-aging NutriMinC RE line and hated it. I remember her saying the enzyme peel was an especially painful procedure (duh), but also, no improvement for her despite religious use.

On the bright side, another friend of mine has acne prone skin, tried their acne line and her skin has never looked better!

I used the Vitamin C line,(the orange one) and it always turned my face tomato red. I really liked the cleanser.. I should never use a toner, and whatever was in the serum reddened my face and the moisturizer made me break out. LOL.. I wish I could have used it.. but it is clearly not for my skin type. I use philosphy's Save Me, for Vitamin C and peptides and all that and I have no bad reaction. So I know it is something within Arbonne's line.

I used to have very, very sensitive skin and I found that, besides Cetaphil, the Japanese DHC line of products was the best for me. Extremely gentle, especially their olive oil based products. Their oil cleanser is water soluble - no scrubbing!

I do like DHC!! They are awesome! Funny because I was actually thinking of getting some of their olive oil deep cleanser for the days I am too lazy to do my OCM. ha ha!
