And be willing to translate a very short passage into phonetic Russkie for me?

It is 'Fedora Lounge' related.... promise.

I was a Russian language major in college. I can take a look. :)

Thank you, it's for a toast at a 1940's/Wartime event at the weekend...

I want to say something like...

"To our friends, the brave soldiers of the Soviet Union. We are proud to join with you in the destruction of the fascist war machine in Europe"

And finish with a familiar/friendly version of "Cheers!"

Dly nashi'h druzei, hrabra'i soldati Sovetskava Soyuzu. Mi gordimsa prisoidenitsa s'vami v destruktsie Fashistkoye voyeniy mashini. Za vashe zdoroviye!

I think that's accurate. I was sounding everything out as I typed just to make sure. :p

Oh, and zaika, I feel bad now, you should've felt free to contribute too!

Yeh! Now pronounce this!....

Нашим друзьям, храбрые солдаты Советского Союза. Мы горды присоединиться с Вами в разрушении фашистской военной машины в Европе

Not a problem! :) And I assure you I haven't pulled anything sly, but I do want to make a note that the "s'vami"(with you) could also be replace with "k'vam", which would be -to- you. And the nashi'h and hrabra'i are spelled out like that because the last letter has emphasis, and I was trying to highlight that. For example with "nashi'h", which is "our", it would be pronounced nashih, with the last h hard and prounced, as in the H in hand, not like the last h in high. And now, I've probably made that seem more complicated than it is. :eusa_doh: lol

Glad to help where I can! :)

I have a four year degree in Googology. The difficult I can do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer.

Yep. These days everyone's an expert thank to Google! I'm like a genius, only different!

Well, would ya look at that! lol See, had you not said, I never would've guessed that was the culprit. Really, that site is light years ahead of dictionary.com/translate and babelfish(which are basically the only sites I know of) in terms of accuracy! I'm glad for the link though, I could use it as an aide to brush up on German, which I learned to speak fairly well, and then promptly forgot. :eusa_doh:
