Was just wondering. Seen some potentially nice pics on the Facebook page, but have not seen many recent acquisition posts...

I'm thinking real hard about the BK Willis and Geiger m-422. The leather sample of seal goatskin I received from Andy a month or so ago was fabulous.
On FB they state that they are on their Easter holiday which will slow down jacket deliveries.

But it's 1st May and Easter was early this year! Surely they must be back at work now? I agree, there do not seem to be any customer reviews of their current jackets here on VLJ.

My thought too..but then, I wondered...does the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrate the same dates for Easter as the "Western" church?
Or maybe they just have a LOOOOOOOONG Easter break. :D

Over on The Jacket Board, BK's rep is making noises about abandoning the midprice market to compete with the likes of Good Wear. He suggests all the market for mil-jacs is at the bottom and top ends - a familiar story these days in many retail lines.

Aside from GW (in s class by them self) isn't BK, ELC, LW and Aero all at the upper end of price point in the jacket repro makers market?

Just dealing with price points here.....
I think it breaks down;
Himmel bros. is the highest I am aware of (thought they don't make an A2...they make other "repro" vintage jackets.)Followed closely by ""The Few".
Then GW and Real McCoy.
Then Aero (if talking about their non-A2 leather jackets.)
Then ELC and BK (if talking their "original contract" A2's with their upper end leather.)
Then Aero (if talking about the cost of their A2's) and Superior Flight Apparel.
May be wrong here, but the largest % leap in prices over the past year seems to be BK.
As the original poster asked, anybody receive a new BK (I'll toss in "Vintage warhorse" hide BK) lately?
With the exception of "The Few" I can recall threads from new owners of all the other brands.

AIUI (and maybe I don't), BK's house model A-2 is getting good word of mouth, but they claim it's not selling. At the same time, they're rolling out Victory Horse, which makes the current hide second-rate goods, so of course it's not selling. They probably don't want it to sell.

Now to what I said about the low end. BK's guy said that popular-priced miljacs have to be US-made due to jingoism in that market segment. ???

Shame if we end up in a reverse price war with everybody racing to the top. But the market is always right, or so they tell us. Maybe too much of it depends on Asia, where price equals prestige.

The way Platon conducts his affairs will always ruffle feathers the wrong way... Yet I admire the fact he's hanging his balls out the line. Comedy is always welcome as well as information
