I have one I purchased it a few years ago. It's an ok hat I am not much of a brown hat person so it doesn't get a lot of head time. I also like a higher end ribbon treatment and leather sweatband. A good starter Panama for someone just starting out.
I also have one purchased about three years ago. Great value. It's my yard hat, etc. The cost (at the starting bid amount, plus the shipping) is only half as much as it would be at twice the price, IMO.
I had the same hat for about 2 years. It was my yard hat also,
Man that hat was tough, I gave it a beating & it held up so well.
A good bang for your buck but its not super fancy & no leather sweat
& boy did i sweat in that hat, This Old timer that works at the local dumps
always complimented me on it (at the dumps)
Its just a brisa weave but worked well for me in 100 degree & up weather.
I recently gave it to my Cousin & he wears it a lot so its still going strong.
He Lives in the Mission District of San Francisco,
so it gets a lot of use since the Mission is the Sunny warmer part of the City.
I've had one for years. Since the last time he offered it. You will enjoy it very much.
I preferred it to my Peter Bros Indy (Milan) Straw so much I got rid of it for lack of wear.
Recommended, both the Vendor & the model, without reservation. :thumb:
I bought one today from Bob's discontinued stock. Got a Caballero Brisa Natural. Says it's a Montechristo and I'm looking for a summer hat. Couldn't beat the price.
I'll post photos when it gets here.
I am curious as to how it compares to the more expensive Montechristo hats with a finer weave like 16x16.
