Very nice swinggal! I like the vintage ad look, you hit the nail on the head with that one.
I did try PMing you again but still not letting me. Maybe it's 20 posts, I dont know. I do not want to go around making BS posts just to get my post count up.

Xavier, those are awesome looking backgrounds. I like the one with the guy standing upside down on the moon. Looks killer! I have a lot of choices on who to go with here...

Pompidou, thanks for the logo work! It is very close to what I am looking for. I may take it and mess with it some on photoshop such as the font and colors. You through some good ideas my way with the shield and crown. As for the others I will try emailing you tonight for the other logos. I have not been online much lately because of a hurt back so I've been in bed all night and day. I am online for now but how long depends on the pain and how long I can sit here in this chair for. :eusa_doh:

I sent you an updated one, because apparently my monitor is brighter than many, so others weren't seeing the details. Best of luck with it.

Just curious what the final results were, if any. You mentioned having gotten some good ideas and all. Anyone manage to get it just right yet?

Almost a month has gone by now. And still no answere to Pompidou.
That's a bloody disgrace!!! :(
When I first saw this post from Shawn F, I thought: No - I am not going to comment on it.
But now - after a month of silence, I will and must speak up:
Who the f... is he and how come he thinks that he can get work done for free?
In all my years in advertising (and design) I have never ever worked for free! Why should I?
Why should anybody?
We are professionals, we've have studied hard to get to where we are now. It's our living - as well as interrest.
And if familymembers or friends have asked me to do this or do that, I have said to them: Either you pay or you find somebody else to do it.
Why?
Because it always turns bad and sometimes ruins friendship.
The guy who want's it for free, doesn't stop. Then he wants some minor details changed, then he wants it igger - or smaller or whatever.
And the guy who do the work gets more and more angry and fed up with the situation and wishes he never said yes.
A loose/loose situation!
OK - I'll step down from my soapbox now.
And Shawn F - if you are still out there: You owe some answeres!

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but to go on a related tangent: of late I've been finding myself forced to redo my letterhead due to some issues with my domain host, and I was wondering if I could run the "rough draft" by y'all for a screening on what it looks like through a pro's eyes. I'm not gonna be like Parties Unnamed, I'm doing all the design work myself, but as an amateur in the field whose last graphic-arts class was almost a decade and a half ago and thus is super-rusty, I'm mainly looking for any Red Flags or Showstoppers I might need to fix, or things that might be contrary to the intended "subliminal message" of "tasteful, conservative, stands out with noticeable contrast but not overly flashy."
