Pretty much as encapsulated by the title- Anyone have any experience with Vanson motorcycle gloves?
I love their jackets and have been on the verge of ordering some of their gloves... from the US over to Australia... hoping they are as good as their jackets, for some time. I'm kind of sick of the standard motorcycle brands gloves which tend to fall apart and well.... Vanson just have this "thing"; supreme functionality perhaps.

I have had a few pairs. I had the roper bones in deerskin and the gauntlet bones. The deerskin ropers were no match for a rottweiler puppy. lol. my rott chewed up my ropers so I ordered the gauntlet ones.

The deer is very soft and flexible. I think they would hold up well in a slide, if ever need be. They will stretch out some. I went with Vansons size chart. They were snug at first, but after about a month, they stretched out quite a bit.

I ordered the gauntlet gloves in the recommended size and had to send them back because they were too tight. I received the next size up and they weren't much bigger at all. The gauntlet gloves were in cowhide. I called Vanson and they said they would stretch also. I would say they stretch very little. I wish I would have went up one more size, actually. I would say their sizing is a little inconsistent.

Also on the gauntlet gloves, the zippers are mainly for show. The gauntlet part is snug OVER a leather jacket and impossible you zip up. I think they look bad to the bone. lol. Construction is good. Stitching is a bit messy in spots, but it doesn't really bother me much. I would recommend Vanson gloves if you get the right size. I like my gloves tight, but I would size up one.

For what it’s worth, although I’m a huge fan of Vanson biker jackets and trousers for riding (they are my most used bike gear for many years now) for my hands I prefer CE rated gloves from “Racer” a glove making specialist worn by a lot of club racers in the UK who also ‘test’ them regularly in crashes! I’d also rate Held gloves based on reviews and other folks experiences with them. They both do models made (partly) with kangeroo leather which is the strongest leather by thickness so ideal for gloves (and a nod to your Australian residence!). They also do models with Knox scaphoid sliders to reduce wrist injury risk in a crash… not cheap of course, but then I expect vanson gloves imported to Oz won’t be so cheap either…. What you go with will depend where your personal choices lie on issues like protection, comfort, warmth, ventilation, feel and of course what style of glove you like aesthetically… I go for a gauntlet style but also having good wrist straps so they should stay on in a crash, carbon fibre knuckle armour, kangeroo leather palm and Knox sliders at the wrists give me more protection. In black they look more low key than that spec might suggest, but there are more discreet but still highly protective models by Racer and Held if you want a less sporty look…

Hope that helps and given the astounding number of bikers I see (in summer anyway) not wearing any gloves, you’ll be better protected than many whatever you choose!

I have two pairs of Vanson gloves (Rocket & Laguna Seca), and a third one on the way (Engineer). All of them are a size S, and bought new last year directly from Vanson.

The Rocket gloves are quite tight, but much nicer and stretched out a bit after half a year of wear. They are made out of competition weight cowhide, apparently, but they are a much thinner hide than what's used on their jackets. I agree that the gauntlet is mainly for show.

The Laguna Seca, made from their soft deerskin, fits much looser.

Both are nice gloves, and I bought them both mainly for style. I do not ride a bike, yet when I finally do (hopefully sooner rather than later) I would choose the Rocket over the Laguna Seca. The cowhide feels sturdier, and it's reinforced at the palm and knuckles.

Have you ever heard of Geier? In my opinion, you cannot get a better pair of leather gloves for the money than their excellent Roper gloves in tough elkskin. The leather feels soft yet resilient, they come in half sizes and have always fit me perfectly, the style is extremely minimalistic but just oozes cool, and I'd feel safe in them on a bike.

I've had several pairs with Knox scaphoid protection, palm sliders, Held, Rukka, and a brand called Dririder (Australian), Five, AlpineStars, and a few cheaper makes, I've crashed in a few of them and they certainly saved my hands. They all just seem to fall apart after a fairly short time though.
One of the reasons I'm looking at the Vansons is in hope that they won't fall apart the way other gloves I've owned have while at the same time giving great protection. Some of their racing gloves, Talons, etc seem to be exceptionally good as far as I can tell for protection... but for street riding maybe Rockets or something like that with the palm and knuckle patches would still be pretty good.
I'll have to take the plunge and get some soon.... been procrastinating on this one too long!
