Anyone else looking forward to sweater weather?

Living in Southern California, it has gotten to be very hot for a couple days, recently, but the rest of this week shouldn't exceed 70 degrees. I'm looking forward to cooler weather, I don't care much for the very hot days the Santa Ana winds blow in.

I'm looking forward to wearing my new varsity cardigans. I need a jacket to wear over them in the rain, though. (The cardigans are hip-length.) A chore coat will do the trick, but it isn't the most fashionable article of clothing ever invented. Any suggestions?

Well, a sportcoat then? Isn't it obvious? Tweed, windowpane, herringbone or something unlined depending how cold it is. Works well with the college style. Look at pictures of students in the LIFE archive for example...
