I have a ton of Avon powders and rouges, as well as some Max Factor and Pond's lipsticks from the 1940s. Sadly, my camera is broken. My favorites: sample lipsticks. Teeny and adorable.

When I was visiting my mom over the weekend, she gave me a 1947 Avon Counselor booklet she found in her attic, as well as a pamphlet titled "The natural cosmetic...Lemon" which appears to be from the '30s. I will definitely scan and post here...both have gorgeous photos!

That is how my collection started off with small vanity items, handbags , and makup up from the 1920's.

I have to say I am really enjoying looking at all the photos posted so far.

Most of mine are with plain goldtone case, I do have this one which I never found anything about it
apart from what's said on the box.

The description that I have my web site :-

Made in Germany this is a really a very nice lipstick case and original box even if the actual lipstick has degraded which is to be expected . The case is hexagonal metal painted black with engraving running up alternative side. The top brass ring is also engraved, when the button is slid up the side the top slided open allowing the lipstick to come through. Made by G.M Kammerer & Co of Nurnberg. The box is printed with "Automatic" (must be one of the main selling point as there no need for a separate top)

if any one can tell me any more I will be your friend for life lol.
