Hi, all

I'm a journalist doing a short video story about Zoot Suits, focused on Siegel's Zoot Suit Store ( http://www.zootsuitstore.com ) on Mission between 19th and 20th in San Francisco. If you've bought a Zoot Suit from Siegel's and wear it, I'd like to interview and photograph you for the story. This is 100% legit -- interview OK in English or Spanish. My credentials are at http://www.photowords.com -- check 'em out, and that link will get you my direct e-mail or phone number to reply.

Thanks!

Welcome to the lounge Lonny, we are glad to have you.

I cannot say that I have worn a Zoot Suit on any occasion. I tend towards vintage apparel or a more somber suit if modern.
But good luck to you! When you are done with your article, I hope you stay on at the lounge, you may find it an interesting place.

I have been looking for a Zoot Suit for a while. I looked around your site, but did not find what I am looking for. Great site though.

I've bought stuff from them and it's kinda ho hum quality. No suits, but ties and shirts. They actually sent me two of the same shirt once but didn't charge my card.

I want to buy a hat from them but I dunno how good the hats look in person or quality of materials. I tend not to trust a place that passes off mediocre clothing as not just falsely "made in the USA" but label it as "quality", when it's marked up cheap tux rental shop stuff really.

I was in the shop when I was on Mission in March. I thought the stuff looked really horrible. Cheap looking, low quality clothing. I wouldn't wear it even if it was for free.

Zoots are definately not my cup of tea, I go for more drab coloured (grays, and browns), fitting, and traditional vintages...

I'm pretty sure I've seen high schoolers dress in these suits for prom as a joke.

I am also sure they are a far cry from the fine materials they used to be made out of.

Siegal's has some cool shit! It's a wild store for sure.

Funny enough, I have been meaning to buy a Zoot Suit from there, but haven't made the time or commitment to.

Siegal's is a fun store. I wouldn't buy a suit from them; but I have purchased some shoes and accessories. They have a great selection of wool newsboy caps and sheer stockings for men. If you search for them, you can find the high waisted, wide-cuffed "Smokey Joe" brand trousers that the swing dancers wear.

Plus they sell every item that Ben Davis workwear has to offer.
