I'm a fan of flying boats / amphibs. I've had the pleasure of several flights on Wilson "Connie" Edwards' PBY-6A (N4NC) as well as his Grumman HU-16 Albatross (N226CG).

Bloehm und Voss Bv 138. Had three diesel engines. This enabled the Flying Clog to be refueled far at sea by U-boats. Useful for ferrying Met teams to Greenland.

Don't forget the Grumman Goose! A real classic, and Gooses, [yes thats what a squadron is called] are still working for a living! Safe to say there are more of the Long Island water foul flying then any other flyingboat type ever made.
