"Anti-Aging" Treatments?

I have a tub of Nivea creme but it is made in Poland...is this similar to the German formula or the Mexican formula?

I have a friend from Poland, in fact it is the same friend that turned me onto the Nivea cream, she says it is wonderful, even a bit better.From what I hear all of the Nivea's are great except the Mexico. I've tried the mexico and it feels very greasy and has a different odor.
My Nivea tin (germany) is nearly empty. Dh and I have been searching high and low. I am going to have to order it online, in bulk. Which is fine with me. There is nothing it doesn't do! Even healed pimples, fades scars...I love it.

My mom is 60 and she looks 45 so I am hoping genetics will keep me form aging.

Actually you are not. There are many "anti-aging treatments" that can help a lot at your age. I don't know how old you are but you look in your mid-20's from your photo. Sunscreen is a great start but as soon as you stop growing (about 21-22 for women, your hips still get slightly wider, even if not enough to see visually) your body stops pumping out collagen and slows down on elastin as well. It really helps to drink a lot of water daily, moisturize and use antioxidants (in your moisturizer, Vitamins A, C, E as well as a basic daily multivitamin and in your daily diet with food) really, really help over time starting in your late teens and early 20's. Also wearing sunglasses and staying away from smoking and other heavy environmental things help dramatically in your 20's.

Sunscreen is my friend!

Everyone guesses my age ten years younger than it is. I started wearing sunscreen when it was invented, 1975 (I was 15, do the math) and it has been a lifesaver (I am the type who strokes rather than tans).
I have very oily skin, so almost any moisturizer gives me awful blackheads and acne! Except for rosewater and glycerin. They don't sell the real thing in drugstores anymore, it is all fake rosewater now (and you want the real rose essence), but most health food stores still carry it.
I wear Black & White Bleaching cream over it in the daytime, as well as being a bleacher, it reflects light so it is a good enough sunscreen for general wear in and out of the car and office (although I still wear #50 if I am out for a walk or on vacation in the sun).
My eyes and neck are my sad spots these days, I started using a cream tfor them that my facialist sells (no brand name on it) and it really helped fill in the fine lines. The big lines on the neck are the worst, but I will have to lose weight to make them go away, they are more (ew) folds than wrinkles.

forgot to mention... I have been using Cellex for a few years and it really halts the progress of aging! But I will look into the Skinceuticals mentioned above - Cellex is very expensive, so maybe I can get a better product for le$$.

I've recently started using an exfoliator from Avon and am about to start using one of their products called "Instant Face Lift". My mom uses it and seems to be liking it. (I may try their wrinkle corrector to get rid of some of the fine lines I'm getting.) Anyone else here use those?

Miss 1929, I'm using a vitamin C serum from Cellular Skin Rx, I think it's about 35$.
I haven't tried any other brands so I can't compare, but I'm quite pleased with this one.

Oddly enough the lady that owns the salon I go to for hair (she does my hair) and nails (another lady) does facials and she is certified in microderm abrasion and she does it there at the aesthetics clinic as well.

I got Botox and Juvederm (smile line collegen filler) and I am doing the first microderm abrasions. You need to do 6, one a week for 6 weeks, then you can maintain it by doing it once or twice a year after that. I just did my third one last Thursday.

Just a heads up that Avon is coming out with an at-home Microderm Abrasion 4-step (8 week program) in about a month for I believe $28. They are projecting it to be a big hit. One hundred percent of users showed improved skin texture, clarity and tone.

I got a tube of this for christmas and I am already thrilled with the results. Its the first cream that Ive noticed a difference with.

I really like the Gorgeous moisturizer from Lush. In fact, I use a lot of their skin care products. My skin looks pretty good as a result, I think. I'm 31 and starting to get a few fine lines, but they haven't become more noticeable in the past year since I've been using that stuff. So I'd like to think it's doing something, at $80 a pop!

Last year I had purchased from "skin actives scientific" skinactives.com, their ready made anti-age cream as a gift for my mother in law. She had used both middle of the road (philosophy, lancome, mary kay, etc) as well as various drug store products and LOVED this cream. It doesn't have the pretty smell of the expensive creams, but it WORKS much better. She commented that she never had a cream that made her skin feel so nice, and look so good. Sometimes it's not always "You get what you pay for." In this case, science defeats marketing.

A year ago, I got an offer from a company for free facial care samples. I never have had a reaction to any of their products! About a week ago, I took a good look in the mirror (w/out make-up on). I swear to you, I have lost 10 years! And when someone asks my age, I tell them to guess - the answers are always between 34 - 36! The company is Yves Rocher . com. Mostly it's down to your genes how you will age. I'm basically screwed as I have my dad's skin (dry, wrinkly and sensitive - thanks dad!) plus I have smoked for 20 years AND I'm skinny - skinny women don't age so well in the face - too bony to plump the skin out I suppose! Also, I am one of those people who moves their face A LOT when they are talking and I've had smile lines since I was a kid. But you know what? I don't want to be afraid of looking my age - as long as I have style and grace and wit I will endeavour to value myself as highly as any 21 year old beauty.

I am a YR fanatic. They have the yummiest shower gels. I buy them in bulk every few months. I don't care for their facial care, because it usually makes me break out.


I am currently using rose hip seed oil. I'm using it because I'm out of Retin A, and it contains a natural retinoic acid. I use it straight out of the bottle, not mixed with a carrier oil. No problems from it, and it hasn't made me break out at all.

I bought a wonderful cream made by Clarins, it's called "Special" Eye Contour Balm (softens fines lines). I'm 28, but I try to do my best to take care of my skin!! I've got dark circles under my eyes and this cream is very effective!!
