Another "help me identify a movie hat" thread

So I was watching this movie yesterday, and one of the main characters had a really cool brown porkpie hat, and i was hoping to tap into the collective knowledge here to identify it, so I can buy one just like it.

So what do you folks think this is. A Cavanagh? A Borsalino maybe? If I can't find a vintage original, maybe I can get Art Fawcett or some other custom hat maker to make me a replica.

I think you're going to have to get Art to help you out. It will most definitely be your best hat, and the best he's made.

just saw this movie yesterday. Im waiting to hear from the hat historians on this one. I think it be a great hat. By the way this movie was amazing.

Several years ago my sister gave me a Stetson dress hat... I would guess it was from the late 70s

It was a little big and nice enough felt, but had a short crown and narrow brim with an underwelt.

So, I recreased the crown into a porkpie and let out the underwelt, reflanged the brim and it became a favorite. I usually wear it with the brim up and casual attire.

Sure, it's not anywhere nearly as special as this movie version ... or the one that Mr. Yogi Bear sported, but I like it.
