This just came in the mail this morning…and it’s unfortunately too big for me. So here’s yet another fresh to market vintage black Harley Davidson horsehide “Sportster One Pocket” café racer. The bigger sizes in this jacket are hard to come by.
Details: The leather on this one is super supple and in beautiful vintage condition. Has a blackened brown patina around the areas of wear which is really amazing. Features the earlier trademark Conmar diamond pull on the chest pocket (the later versions of this jacket had ring pulls and were inferior IMHO.) Also features original Conmar main zip And features the original Conmar bell zipper on the left sleeve, and an Ideal bell zipper on the right sleeve (probably an old replacement.) All zips work fine. Lining is basically in good condition in the body, but about the only issue is that there is a bit of fraying around the end of the sleeve cuffs and around bottom of jacket. And the right sleeve is beginning to show signs of separation at points along the seam (see photo.) Horsehide has lots of character and there is some scuffing that is to be expected with a jacket of this age, but again, super supple and grainy. No size label. It fits big on me, and I usually wear a size 42. Fits more like a size 44 maybe 46 if you like your jackets tight.
Here are the approx. measurements:
Shoulder to shoulder: 20”
Armpit to armpit: 23.5”
Shoulder seam to end of sleeve:26”
Base of neck to bottom: 25”
Please remember- this is a vintage jacket, not perfect, not new, not off the rack, but with some scuffs and wear along with a unique story to tell- a timeless classic.
Considering the rarer larger size, and amazing original condition of the hide and zippers on the jacket, I feel a fair price is $335.
Pick it up in person, or CONUS shipping is $25.
