classic lifestyle

We were sorting old film stills at the
Library of Congress. What a waste for
them to be stuck in a box there.
They sure would make great covers for
such a magazine.
As soon as it comes out I'm jumping in
my Bugatti and rushing to the news
stand. Hooray for you.

I'd be all over ebay for advertising $$. Everyone here are Ebay junkies.

I hereby (newb though I be) nominate for historically accurate columns:
Wild Root for men's fashion,
Deckard for places and things.
LaurenHenline for Women's fashion and hair.
Scotrace for social commentary.
LizzieMaine for vintage music and radio.
AtomicBlonde or MysteryGal for politics/family.
Chevalier for the international scene and humorous musings.
Quigley Brown for photography and graphics
Hemingway for slice-of-life

It will not be a "vintage" magazine, per se. We are not just focusing on the past. We will show how to achieve classic style today using the golden era as a compass. Of course we will look at people with great style, past and present.

More to come.

Just thought I would sort of point out that as MK has said, its not just about historically accurate vintage....

OUTSTANDING!!

MK,

This is truely terrific news! I used to subscribe to a magazine called "M" in the 1980's that was all about classic lifestyle and fashion. I didn't have the resources to emulate the style then and have sorely missed the magazine since its demise. I have long awaited something to replace it...I look forward to being a charter subscriber to Classic Style! I wish you every success.

Good idea, MK and good ideas from others

Mr Sefton's idea is morally wrong but I could see how i might "accidently" cover other magazines with yours while buying a copy.
Hannigan makes a good point, you already have decent people to write for it.
I'm looking forward to it.

Sincerely,
The Wolf

there is no one better to start this magazine but you. I wish you great success! I know you'll do great, you're a very intelligent man and have equally intelligent people working with you on this to make this into something remarkable. I wish you all the luck MK :eusa_clap

hear-hear, Sally! :eusa_clap
That would certainly enhance the value and draw in a huge market that gets overlooked. One way of doing it right without being preachy or a turn-off would be to simply reprint moral and etiquette advice from the golden era, without comment. Some of Roosevelt and Eisenhower's speeches addressed these things. I think that would be a good approach.
