Hello, I would really like some advice ....... I have just bought an original anj - 4 (I think) jacket and it needs some work on the stitching and the buckles at the back have all corroded, the thing is - it's fantastic as it is and I really don't want to muck it up. I've got the number of a supposed excellent saddlery type craftsman and I'm going to take it along for him to have a look at ........ has anybody been in this position, if so what would you advise, leave it as is or get it stiched up and cleaned ? The cleaning is another problem, I'm guessing there are specialist cleaners out there to look after a 60 year old jacket.
If it makes a difference, I'm dyeing (that didn't come out right - some day but hopefully not before I secure the sports car and chateau) and will instruct my siblings to bury me in it.
Thanks
Chris (I am I'm guessing a Limey!)
